Evidently we are going to get at least a bit of Article III judicial action in California

10 Article III and 4 Article I Judicial nominees are lined up for a vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday. Of most note are the 3 to the Central District of California, a sign that Trump, Feinstein and Harris have finally worked something out and these nominations have been allowed to move forward.

So far these are the only three California Judicial nominations to be moving forward, but hopefully more are coming.

Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha, to be United States District Judge for the Central District of California

Stanley Blumenfeld, to be United States District Judge for the Central District of California

John C. Hinderaker, to be United States District Judge for the District of Arizona

Mark C. Scarsi, to be United States District Judge for the Central District of California

John Leonard Badalamenti, to be United States District Judge for the Middle District of Florida

William Scott Hardy, to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania

John F. Heil III, to be United States District Judge for the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma

David Cleveland Joseph, to be United States District Judge for the Western District of Louisiana

Anna M. Manasco, to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama

Drew B. Tipton, to be United States District Judge for the Southern District of Texas

Grace Karaffa Obermann, to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims

Stephen Sidney Schwartz, to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims

Kathryn C. Davis, to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims

Edward Hulvey Meyers, to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims

I should note that Trump has made the following nominations to the State of California. 12 total, 7 to the Central District (Los Angeles) and 5 to the Southern District (San Diego). However, Feinstein and Harris have evidently only returned blue slips at this point for those three individuals who are moving forward.

Stanley Blumenfeld C.D. Cal. November 13, 2018[Rn 27]
Jeremy B. Rosen C.D. Cal. November 13, 2018[Rn 28]
Mark C. Scarsi C.D. Cal. November 13, 2018[Rn 27]
Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha C.D. Cal. October 17, 2019[Rn 30]
Sandy N. Leal C.D. Cal. October 17, 2019[Rn 31]
Rick Richmond C.D. Cal. October 17, 2019[Rn 31]
John W. Holcomb C.D. Cal. November 21, 2019[Rn 31]
Steve Kim C.D. Cal. November 21, 2019[Rn 31]
Adam L. Braverman S.D. Cal. October 17, 2019[Rn 31]
Shireen Matthews S.D. Cal. October 17, 2019[Rn 31]
Knut S. Johnson S.D. Cal. November 21, 2019[Rn 31]
Michelle M. Pettit S.D. Cal. November 21, 2019[Rn 31]
Todd W. Robinson S.D. Cal. November 21, 2019[Rn 31]

What I don’t see are any nominations at yet for the Eastern District of California (Sacramento & Fresno) which is essentially on Judicial life support at this point.

Looks like all the California Judges went to the Senate floor on voice votes. Hopefully they will be coming up for final confirmation within the next month.
