It’s exactly what ohknow was talking about unless his, “There’s never been a more corrupt enterprise in history” statement is some protected “alternative fact”.
Even with GOP retirements and having more seats to defend, I’m not sure Dems are in a position to take over. Which seats do you think can be flipped to D ?
It is all part of the big picture. Trump still controls a large portion of the GOP. And his base will re-vote in incumbents in Trump districts & states. However there are independents in swing districts who might be on the fence. And if Trump is shown as a crook and cheat that I believe he is it might be beneficial to Democrats running in some of those districts.
It was a subset of republicans that knew he was a crook and a cheat and refused to vote for him, while electing republicans on the undercard. For instance Susan Collins in Maine got 56,000 more votes than trump.
If the selling or giving of the data is used as in in-kind favor to influence foreign spending to promote a candidate of the United States then, yes… it is illegal and in violation of more than one campaign finance law.
You may be correct. The mid-terms might show how much sway he still has. IMHO Trump’s style of revenge politics does not help the party. And Ronna Romney McDaniel keeps sucking up to him.
