Hmmm…

Come on- is it special nordic mushrooms?

Maybe the Russians just don’t want a repeat of the Winter War?

The great thing about Russia is that they are always willing to negotiate. They don’t lie to themselves or their people, they just okay straight up power politics. They will always take a deal. Think about the Cold War. It’s never not been true. Even Kryuschev was just fronting because he thought Kennedy was weak. And they talked it out.

True.

In a way I agree…but that still doesn’t give us…or western Europe the license to interfere…or bring NATO up to Russian borders.

It’s not our fight.

The greatest sniper in the history of planet Earth was Finnish. I’m the Winter War. Finland made Russia pay for every inch. Russia just gave up halfway through.

I understand Samm…but at what point we are interfering in something that isn’t our concern/interest.

If anything we have interest in Russia not as adversary but as a trading partner. If we view them as such instead of a threat or some hardliner dream of breaking Russia apart.

If Ukraine wants to align more with Europe and NATO… that they see a better future for themselves with that than being under the thumb of Russia… then why is that a bad thing?

This is literally the best time to have a president with extensive foreign policy experience. And we get one like one out of five at best.

Ukraine doesn’t know what they want.

What? At the very least, Ukrainians know they don’t want to be under the Russian boot.

I view this like middle east countries fighting of old territory claims going back centuries.

Even if that were true… getting invaded by Russia to have Putin’s boot on their neck is really low on the list of wants.

And haw do we view the validity of those claims?

“We” don’t decide to expand NATO. A county applies for membership and acceptance of that nation requires a unanimous vote of the member countries for the invitation to be offered.

Yep.

That’s twice.

The Finns are bad ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ Russia gave up. Germany didn’t even really try very hard.

Simon Haxho or whatever his name is, the sniper, is literally the hardest dude to live in all of human history. It’s unbelievable.

What interference other than political rhetoric and a little saber rattling have we done?

And this is going to be interesting. Olaf Scholz has already said that Ukraine’s entrance into NATO is not on his agenda. And then he says how much he supports Ukraine against a Russia invasion. So far he seems to be on the same page with the US and other Europe nations regarding pulling the plug on Nord Stream 2.

Quite frankly, I think Ukraine should have let those two provinces go a long time ago. Are they really worth the trouble?
