Embarrassing. If he was gonna say something like this, say it on 1/7 or stay quiet forever. This guy really took two years to work up some spine.

While I do sympathize with the danger Pence and his family were in on 1/6 with a mob screaming “Hang Mike Pence,” I have to wonder - why the hell did it take almost 2 years for him to finally grow a spine and finally stand against the architect of that danger??

Campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus both had been pushing hard for Pence—each for his own reasons.
They thought Pence would go over well in the Midwest and with Evangelicals. But in all the books I read about the 2016 campaign, Trump was still deciding between Chris Christie and Pence down to the day the Pence announcement was made. Newt Gingrich was also in the mix.
I notice that “insurrection” is the ABC author’s word, not a quote from Pence. I doubt if Pence ever calls it that.
“Since leaving office, Pence has praised the policies of their administration while breaking with Trump over the latter’s fixation on the last Presidential race.” I agree with Pence on that.

Those are direct quotes about endangering Pence and his family and being reckless- “It was clear he decided to be part of the problem.”.
This was an interview for Pence’s already written book. If there had been a big red wave this election like many thought, Trump’s standing would be a lot higher. Pence couldn’t have known how that would turn out when he wrote the book.
