Employment by race, interesting tidbit in March

Maybe it’s the end of racism.
Maybe it’s the beginning of racism (white folks kicking back letting black folks do all the work.)
Maybe it’s about birth rates 60 years ago, white folks growing and retiring

Whatever the reason
last month, for the first time ever, the employment to population ratio
for African-Americans was higher than that for White Americans.

  • Employment-to-Population Black or African American – 60.9%
  • Employment-to-Population White – 60.2%

not the end of racism but the end of white kids looking for employment.

lots have just stopped searching for work.

the end of the american work ethic.

my grandmother is spinning in her grave.

“idle hands are the devils work”

Now if someone would just let all the racists, bigots, and sexists on the left know, we might finally get to the end of racism. :man_shrugging:

Employment-population ratio is higher both for whites and blacks than at any time prior to 1979. In fact it stayed pretty darn low through the 1960s and 1970s (hippie disco freaks didn’t wanna work I guess.)

They don’t provide a whole lot of detail about age groups.

Idle hands are the devils workshop

What is it for other races?
