That’s what is currently happening in Canada. Now…ask me how I know?

I’m think it should all be legalized or at least decriminalized. Heroin, coke, all of it. Our current options are try to arrest our way out of it-not working after fifty years is it-or nothing. Legalization/decriminalization offers more policy options to curb drug abuse.

Sure. That is government for you.
Let’s take a substance that saps productivity and then tax the hell out of it and still go after all the tax dodging illegal operators.
Pot heads have been manipulated and soaked for tax revenue.
The cartels are still in business.

“Legalization” is permission. Intrusion. Control.

Lol “saps productivity.” Alcohol is easily the most social destructive drug that exists. Like it’s not even close. You’re okay with that, bet you drink yourself.

When it’s legalized, you’ll be allowed to grow it yourself and I like that kind of “control”. I don’t see where “intrusion” comes into place?

That is OK with me.
I remember a lot of pot enthusiasts went to Alaska in the 1970’s for that reason.
None of the new wave legal pot laws are letting people grow their own and avoid government oversight.

I agree. No reason for government to be involved at all.

I just got back from Canada where in my brother’s backyard, along Lake Superior, he had 4 plants growing. That’s the max allowed per household. What was crazy is, my 90 year old mother observed it and accepted that this is now ok.

I find it very amusing that weed along with Quaaludes were the only two drugs made illegal because they were super enjoyable with virtually no side effects.

I actually do not drink. Have not for many years. Never liked it.
It is also quite harmful to the body.
I am a physical fitness enthusiast and my drug is the burn of a good workout.

We could use the Japanese model: target the users and give them massive prison sentences. It works in keeping their truly epic decades long love affair with meth in check. But y’know, it’s probably not ideal.

I agree too.
Abolish the laws against it and stay out of it after that.

Well it does make the pain of asinine politicians go away.

Well…aside from all the deaths from mixing 'ludes and booze, anyway.
It’s weird to me that quaaludes haven’t made some sort of a come back. I don’t think I’ve ever even met anybody who just saw one, let alone taken one.

I started in 1989 and have stuck with it ever since.
My philosophy is pain will visit either on its terms or on my terms if I work out. So I work out. Twice a day 5 days a week.
