I just find it hard to believe that Fetterman wants to let convicted first-degree murderers out of prison. That’s ■■■■■■■ insane.

He doesn’t.

But neither does he want to condemn them to prison for the rest of their lives.

He does. He’s on the parole board and has voted, often times the only vote, to release first degree murderers.

Does it exist or are you still denying it exist. Do some research.

The bulk of the people whose sentences he voted to commute committed the crimes between 40 and 50 years ago. That’s consistent with his position that they Shouldn’t have to remain in jail forever.

You can disagree with it if you want and that’s fine. But the opposition is making it sound like he wants to release all convicted murderers right now.

So this didn’t happen?

In June 2021, Fetterman was the only member of the state’s Board of Pardons—which he chairs as lieutenant governor—to vote to commute Covington’s sentence, according to records reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon. In 1970, Covington admitted to shooting 18-year-old George Rudnycky to death while high, as Covington and an accomplice were robbing Rudnycky for drug money. Covington pleaded guilty to first-degree murder to avoid the death penalty and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Fetterman cast his vote over the pleas of Rudnycky’s family members, who opposed Covington’s release at the killer’s commutation hearing.

Has he voted to keep anyone in prison, regardless of the circumstances??

Meh, didn’t bother me, but I know what crudites are. More troubling was his selection of grocery store made salsa and guacamole as dips for his veg. If he can’t make his own guac he’s a lazy moron. You know he thought about hummus but didn’t want to go there lol.

Awesome. The poster was all snarky about it, too!

By the way, for those who claim I never criticize Trump, his saddling us with poor candidates like Oz is awful.

Yes he was.

But when you play politics as a blood sport, your guy can never be wrong.

So since Oz is on team Trump, obviously this was a great video he put out.

And… There is still no Wegners supermarket in Pennsylvania. But if someone wants to put even more time and effort into researching every little supermarket in Pennsylvania on the off chance that a Wegners does exist, they can be my guest.

Did you read any of that?

Just like JayJay said, that’s someone who has been in prison for more than 50 years.

First degree murder… Jay said he doesn’t support releasing them. Clearly he does.

Or did you not read that?

Yes I know the campaign he ran focused on felony murder only.

But he is being consistent in general that he does not believe murderers need to be locked up forever. And unless you can provide me evidence that 70 year old parolees are dramatically contributing to the murder problem, I personally don’t have a problem with his attitudes.

You obviously have a different opinion.

To be fair, he might not have known. When the stories get repeated on right wing media outlets, they conveniently leave out when the actual crime took place.

And it’s still first degree murder. Apparently it doesn’t count after a time… good to know.

So what?

So it’s ok after how many years exactly?

There isn’t a general rule. Everyone’s circumstances are different. That’s the whole point.

But apparently none of them deserve to be in prison according to this guy.

That’s the general rule now.

No, that’s according to you.
