If he did something outside of the Regs, why wasn’t he formally disciplined?
He had an assignment rotation that took him to his safe space of easy answers and away from the often confusing and complicated front lines of international diplomacy where he was failing. He can’t do any more damage to international diplomacy from his tiny Pentagon office anymore. He might have been given administrative punishment or not. Typically, when people fail as he did, the real problem lies in the system that inadequately prepared him for his difficult assignment. Not ‘the right stuff’ regardless of his ability to lead troop in the field. You would have to ask the guy who signs his annual evaluation more about any administrative punishment the subversive O5 did or did not receive.
Hell… stop paying all the officers who still salute Trump.

Vindman was probably treated like the traitor he is!

All allegations of misconduct against Vindman have been formally investigated by the United States Army and all allegations were dismissed as 100% unsubstantiated.
In other words, all the allegations were vindictive slander, nothing more.
Vindman was APPROVED for promotion to Colonel by both the Secretary of the Army and the Secretary of the Defense.
The ONLY person stopping this was a vindictive Donald J. Trump, blocking the promotion for no other reason than revenge for Vindman giving honest testimony to the United States House of Representatives.
If Biden wins, he should call Vindman back to active duty for, at an absolute minimum, the purpose of promoting him to Colonel in retirement or for offering Vindman a promotion to Colonel and a duty assignment should Vindman wish to return to active duty.
Biden should also apologize, on behalf of the Government of the United States, for the treatment Vindman has received.
I would go either further and have Congress pass a statute that requires the President to submit to Congress, IN EVERY INSTANCE, a detailed explanation as to why he overruled a promotion recommendation for any Officer of the United States Military subject to either Presidential appointment alone (0-1 to 0-3) or Presidential appointment with Senate confirmation (0-4 and above).
While the President has the POWER under the Constitution to unilaterally deny a promotion, he does NOT have the right to withhold from both Congress and the public why he is doing so, particularly if it is a matter of potential retaliation.

Perhaps my Google is broken, but AR 600-9 appears to be physical fitness requirements.
Vindman testified to the content of a phone call he was party too.

fat boys cannot get promoted if they do not meet the height and weight standards in AR 600-9. either making weight or by having a body fat percentage determined by tape, caliper, impedance or other regulation approved method. this applies to everyone in the US Army; whether they are head shed, other REMFs or line troops. for board level promotions they can get torpedoed even for appearing like they aren’t a v shaped torso, super trooper or if they have a beard shadow even when freshly shaven that can adversely affect the opinion of the board members.
And if Trump is re-elected, Vindman will be grouped with the rest of the Democrats who could never accept the fact that the Republic of voters are smart seeing right through their diabolical scheme to take out the POTUS.
