2015 saw 2.9% GDP growth along with over 2.7 million jobs created. But the CEC has stated that the economy didn’t start booming until Trump became President in 2017.

Since January 26, 2018, the Dow is up 1.7%. Forgive me if 1.7% growth over almost 18 months doesn’t make me jump for joy. Especially since that occurred with full unemployment, high deficit spending and low interest rates. If unemployment rises, a recession hits, and there is no way to lower interest rates…we’re screwed.

It’s amazing how Trumpsters and Trump claim 3% GDP is best economy ever. And how the economy is so amazing, but are screaming for the Fed to cut interest rates. Or how wages continue to stagnate.

Context is important. During the “Great Recession” the Fed was able to stem some of the damage by cutting rates from 5.25% to 0.25%. The current rate is 2.5%. If that is cut further, there will be little the Fed can do to help.

Yup - and Trump is asking for the rate to be cut. In the best economy ever.

The great news is when it dips back below, and the hits 27k again, Trump can take credit all over again for passing 27k. And the Trumpsters will cheer with glee and worship at his alter about how the DOW is so amazing.
