The president holds the highest office in the govt. and he is president 24 hours a day. Everything the president says in any public forum is the government.saying it.

He announces official policy on twitter all the time, there is no way to discern the difference. If Trump tweets it, it carries the weight of the US government.

No, giving his personal opinion about who should be boycotted is stupid but it is not the government saying it. And it has zero weight in terms of government. What’s the penalty for not boycotting?

Yes, if he is stating some sort of policy, are you claiming that was a policy or directive to government agencies? That doesn’t mean if he says he likes cheese it is official government policy that everyone likes cheese.

Their stock dropped 3.5 percent in direct response to Trump’s tweet. That’s ■■■■■■■ criminal, he knew that would happen, just as it has happened so many times before with other companies. ■■■■ Trump and anybody who defends these kinds of tweets.

I am not defending them, criticism is deserved, doesn’t change the fact he has the right to do it. At you going to hold every famous person who can move the market with their criticism of a company with some crime? No, of course not, because it’s free speech.

Private people are not the same as the president, no matter how much you want them to be.

By all means, link the statute making it criminal. Everything you don’t like isn’t illegal.

It was a manager, not the corporation that pulled this stunt. Trump is too stupid to take two seconds to have someone look into it. He got butthurt and lashed out like a two year old, costing them millions of dollars over a company policy that doesn’t even exist.
