Arguing that the President of the United States does NOT have total and complete authority to order States to open up their businesses against their wishes and police powers afforded to them via the 10th Amendment, which goes to the very heart of Federalism is now not a conservative principle?

At least we now know why you could only offer laughing emojis when it was stated that I have maintained conservative principles. You have lost the plot.

Don’t ask me, Republicans are the experts on socialism and communism. These days I think anyone to the left of Mitt Romney is considered a communist.

Keep in mind Trump controls the resources at federal level. So in a way it was vile threat if states don’t comply.

So you agree with me that Trump does not have complete and total authority to force the States to do anything with respect to opening the businesses within their borders. Got it! Thank you!

A republican president and conservatives resting their laurels on the interstate commerce clause of the constitution. Originalists! lol i can’t

They were. They had partnered with Ventec to set up supply chains before the President tried to convince people that reality isn’t real.

How does that open up the countries businesses?

Good post. Don’t forget who the governors depend on to get reelected.

The pressure would be tremendous.

Yep. No doubt about it.

Not to some apparently. But don’t worry, I am the one who no longer adheres to conservative principles and ideology. It is the backers of CentGov and authoritarianism that are the TRUE conservatives.

I think it’s clear he has been studying the Constitution but having great trouble grasping the concept. His wackiest tweets often seem to have direct roots to misconceptions of the meanings within the document.

Both open. No seeum.

We are truly in an upside down, inside out world at this point.

The feds have lost this argument before. As @WuWei already saId, the power is only what the “ephors” make it to be. It’s neither absolute nor total.

Trump has the authority to move resources that states may need. If you were such Constitution expert as you claim you would know that.

all the states would have to do is start pulling business licenses. ot shutting off utilities.
it wouldnt even be much of a circus

Them, not him. There is nothing about Trump that is “right”.

Some of ignorance I’m seeing here is unbelievable. After 10/15 years here I figured “some” of you would have learned the proper roles of goverment…and power they wield.

You support Trump. Trump claimed absolute authority.
