No, like asking instead of telling. And maybe stopping the bull ■■■■■
Suggesting someone wear a mask is fine. Demanding and fining them is a different thing. I want cold hard data to prove I’m a threat to others if you insist on a law mandating these masks. I value freedom over perceived safety. Keep in mind, I’m a staunch Conservative that despised Bush for the Patriot Act because it was using fear rather than cold hard evidence to create laws that infringed on rights.

Same here.
Wear it if it makes you feel safe.
I have no issue with that.
However, unless it is N95 it isn’t going to do much of anything.
How many folks have you seen in an N95?

It’s not me and what ever it is you’ve got, I don’t need it that bad…cept for exception tonight.
Operator error happens. We don’t just give up and don’t bother with any protection. Should doctors not wear masks?
Yes.
I note you haven’t disputed a single point I listed. Do you think your non-science POV is as valid as scientific povs?
So when it isn’t asked, you are totally fine putting other people’s mothers at risk.
The CDC and physics disagrees with you.
Opinion noted and dismissed. There’s no difference between a mask and sneezing into your hand/elbow.

Your article says the authors of the study retracted it because of unreliable data.
if you go out without a mask you should be barred from entering any business
no shoes no shirts no service needs to have no mask added to it.
In addition if your out without a mask you should be met with derision and mocking
You are kidding, right? There is a lot of data that shows that wearing a mask and doing social distancing is slowing the spread. Covid-19 is not garbage. This thing is real and is killing people. It certainly is worse then the flu for many folks. Because of my health I am at a greater risk of not making it if infected with Covin. This thing started off being compared to the flu. And now we know that was a bunch of ■■■■■
Nonsense. While it’s a bit worse than the flu, but not order of magnitude worse worth ruining our economy over. What data suggests we “slowed the spread” by wearing a mask?
Look, there are a few very clear data points here.
Most of the deaths by a large percentage are over 65.
Most of those had other conditions prior to Covid that were life threatening on their own.
It’s not clear that all of the deaths attributed to Covid were even Covid related or caused. More and more data is coming out to suggest a larger percent of the deaths aren’t proven to be Covid related or even had tests confirming Covid was present.
See, your post is a perfect example of this tactic being used lately to suggest someone is stupid for even questioning the conclusions of the government. If we don’t have complete data, how can we NOT question the conclusions and remain vigilant of abuse of power? We have a judge here that mandated mask use and there’s no conclusive proof anyone can provide that forcing me to wear a mask has even a tiny percentage chance to make someone safer. You don’t know if I’m sick, yet you’re treating me as such. That’s called panic behavior and it’s idiotic. You all do the same nonsense with background checks for guns. You assume I’m guilty and make me prove otherwise by adhering to your regulations even though I’ve never committed a crime. It’s backwards from a free society.
Some of us don’t just roll over and believe everything we’re told because too often in the past, it’s turned out to be garbage. Did you rail against the Patriot Act? I’m sure you did because Bush was all for it. Was it necessary? People in government argued it was needed to fight terrorism, yet it’s been used to infringe on the rights of Americans in many instances and it’s still not clear if it’s ever helped stop one terrorist attack that couldn’t have been stopped without it. Stop assuming when there’s an absence of clearly communicated data and think. Why do they want to mandate masks? I guarantee you it’s not for your safety. If it was, it would have been mandated day 1… at this point, I believe it’s about trying to make this issue seem worse so people don’t step back and go “Hold up, you’re telling me this was effectively a bit worse than the flu, yet we crashed our economy over it?” The response was unbelievably over blown and did great harm, more harm in my opinion than the virus.
Add a gun to that list, might be a liberal in there ready to rob you. Irresponsible to allow people to take actions that you perceive as risky. Let’s put quotas on sugar and fattening foods. Hundreds of thousands die from heart disease each year. No more smoking, to prevent cancer. No more freedom at all, let’s just allow the state to tell everyone what they can and can’t do, you know, cause people might do something that isn’t good for them.
Here’s the deal. It’s none of your damn business what I and the business down the street agree to, so long as an innocent person isn’t harmed. If you choose to come to the store, that’s a free action. If I choose to let you in my store, that’s a free action. If a company says you must have a mask, that’s a free action. If you mock me for not wearing a mask, I’ll mock you for being a sheep, blindly following orders,

Did you read what it was about? Did you read THIS part? Seems someone has a vested interest in silencing debate:
We proposed correcting the reported data with new experimental data from additional patients, but the editors requested retraction.
The question on reliable data came from limit of detection.
The LOD is a statistical measure of the lowest quantity of the analyte that can be distinguished from the absence of that analyte.
Typical “science” today, if it doesn’t match the conclusions expected, they want it silenced. Wouldn’t even allow a correction based on further data.

I have outlined the physics in question which you have not disputed.
-
The CDC disagrees with you
-
if you took a second to perform the simple test I outlined you would further know I am right.

Studies have shown mask wearing correlates with reduced infection rates.
Sneezing into the elbow is a pretty good practice. But when out and about, you can’t be assured everyone else will do that.
Linsey Marr is a professor at Virginia Tech and studies airborne transmission of viruses:
LINSEY MARR: If you’re talking - when things are coming out of your mouth, they’re coming out fast, and they’re going to slam into the cloth mask. I think even a low-quality mask can block a lot of those droplets.
GODOY: Marr points to one study that looked at people infected with the flu and seasonal coronaviruses. It found that even loose-fitting surgical masks blocked almost all the contagious droplets they breathed out.
If wearing a mask is fogging up your glasses it’s doing little if any good because it’s escaping from your mask around the edges because it isn’t sealed.

Where I’m at, people are not with in 6 feet of each other. I live on 5 acres. I’m not in your situation nor do I choose to be. I am where I chose to live years ago…in part…due to what you just suggested. Everyday I have a choice…to go be near other’s mothers or not. I choose not. You obviously live in close proximity to others where what you suggested is a part of your life? It isn’t mine.
You can believe Wildrose, anonymous Internet poster. Or you can believe Dr. Linsey Marr, professor at Virginia Tech studying airborne transmission of diseases.
