What is?

Doesn’t change the nature of “requirement”.

What does Christian have to do with citizenship?

Well, I live in a state with a democratic governor and a democratic mayor. I played golf today without a mask . . . in fact being outside at a safe distance is encouraged.

I saw a meme a while back with a picture of a label on the dash of a Jeep that said “NO SEATBELTS - WE DIE LIKE MEN.”

That’s fine but I’d be interested in hearing what specifically you had a problem with.

Fauci was dead on, wasn’t he?

Fauci’s accuracy has nothing to do with the accuracy of my points unless you are claiming science as a whole is suspect.

Our governor ■■■■■■■ sucks. No desire to ever vote for a democrat after this ■■■■■■■■ . Must be nice to have someone reasonable.

I’m in the Outer Banks now. Love it down here. Played Nags Head Friday - fun little course. 74 with four birdies, so not great.

There is zero scientific evidence to what you are passing off as advice.

Point 1. You didn’t provide any rebuttal to my scientific points. What are you basing your doubts on? Have you had any classes in fluid flow? Have you created physics based models of fluid flow through porous media (Darcy equation)?

Point 2. Do you believe there is something 100% effective? I’m skeptical when you also consider operator error but I’m willing to listen.

Point 3. Are you of the opinion that cloth masks don’t help at all? The CDC disagrees with you and I’d be happy to cite some recent studies on the matter if you are interested.

You don’t have any. Ergo, the rest of your claims fall on deaf ears.

This is just the latest fear mongering by some in this nation to exert power. This idea that I should wear a mask and if I don’t, I’m inconsiderate and risking the lives of others is just idiotic. Why? I walked into the store today. I grabbed a shopping cart that a 18 year old kid just cleaned and I watched him use the same rag on several carts. I snickered. I walked in 50 feet and watched a lady pick through a dozen apples, touching each and every one of them until she found the right one. Yay, she was wearing a mask but wonder what she had on her hands. Walk a little further and I see a mother with her child that’s licking the shopping cart handle but he has a mask around his neck and she’s got one with her nose sticking out. I watched a fat guy with a mask DRIP SWEAT into produce. Seriously, 30 minutes of shopping later and I couldn’t help but just laugh at the people that think they’re protecting ANYONE by wearing a damn mask. If you have to sneeze or cough, do it into your elbow and it nets the same protection as a damn mask. Wash you food when you get it home and leave those at risk at the house and make sure you care for them.

I’m really tired of the virtue signaling in society, the cross look you get when you don’t have a mask. The lady that says “Oh, I’m not brave enough to come into a store without a mask”… and when you say “Hey, those tomatoes you’re picking through, how many people do you recon have been through there picking, touching and breathing on them?” the reaction you get is hilarious… “Yeah, never really thought about that, but it’s the stuff in the air I’m worried about”…

If you want to wear a mask, do it. I’m not going to poke fun of you because if you think it’s going to help, cool. I don’t wear one because I don’t think they do much. Just save your crap that I’m being selfish because I don’t want to wear one. Show me a study that shows the infection rate is lower among those that wear a mask and maybe I’ll buy into it but honestly, this entire Covid garbage is a load of nonsense to begin with. It’s not that much more dangerous than the Flu. Yes, I want to protect those at risk, we do the same during Flu season for our parents but the panic is just silly at this point IMO.

Of course it is.

She has a name…it’s Karen.

^^This.

Now, let me ask you a question?

What about when I run my debit card through the machine and have to punch in my code on a key pad that has never been sanitized after a hundred people have used it.

Now, I have an itch on my eye so I rub it.

What the hell good is a mask going to do?

Hmm, I thought I had made some points based on the physics of flow. Let me delineate my points and you can express which ones you doubt.

  1. Exhalations are examples of flow
  2. Flow through a mask is an example of flow through a porous media
  3. When flow passes a stationary solid the flow sees friction
  4. Friction impedes flow
  5. As air flows through the porous mask it passes by fibers of cloth which impart friction, slowing the flow.
  6. The initial velocity of the flow is reduced by this friction
  7. The particle droplets of Covid are carried by this air with the velocity.
  8. A lower velocity results in the particles not traveling as far before gravity pulls them to the ground.

That’s the basics. Advise which art you disagree with or think is non-scientific. Thanks.

Yet wearing masks has been correlated with a reduction in infections. Why is that?

Here you go:

Perhaps you’ve not been reading a whole lot.

Medical providers have been in full hazmat gear, been infected and died.

And you think a tee shirt over your face based upon the size of this virus is going to make some kind of difference?

Like the president wearing one and encouraging everybody to wear them?

That went out the window when Burn, Loot, Murder hit the streets and no one cared about enforcement.

(X) Doubt

I don’t read the Washington post. They require a subscription and I’ll be damned if I feed those idiots money… but I do see one thing in the title… “COULD”… I’ve seen nothing that conclusively indicates that it’s effective. I’ve seen a bunch of things back and forth saying wear them, don’t wear them… I don’t think it’s conclusive that a cloth mask stops anything. I’ve seen a study from 2016 that said there was no statistical significance in wearing a mask to prevent a cold or the Flu. Below is another example…

Again, if you believe it helps, great. Just don’t do what our stupid judge did here in Harris county, mandate them and threaten to fine businesses for people not complying… oh and here’s the fun part… she issued the “order” last week and it takes effect Monday. Apparently it wasn’t important enough to make it mandatory during the weekend when most people grocery shop.

Sorry, I just don’t buy into the hype. I’m not playing stupid games because virtue signalers tell us it’s a great idea. For the same reason, I don’t listen to those dolts when they say it’s less safe to have a gun in the home, I didn’t believe the dolts that insisted we give up rights to stop terrorism and I don’t listen to the preppers when they say I need 2 years worth of food at the house. I don’t support fear mongering.
