Nothing, unless your employer objects. Or wife…or Daughter…etc.
I didn’t make the decision, did I? I support the employers decision. The guy wasn’t even an employee. They don’t need a reason.
Supporting his work peer. What’s wrong with that?
I’m not wrong. Baptist worked for the NBA. NBA is the final arbiter for what is acceptable or not of its contractors.
The whining about “cancel culture”.

Great discussion, especially @PeterGriffin and @zantax .
Thank you all for your civility.
All that really matters is whatever El Jefe think’s matters.
/related or not, I just discovered that most professional athletes get W2’s.

Perhaps that only shows the right cares more about free speech and unfettered political debate.
I thought the right was pro business? Why wouldn’t the right support the NBAs decision to fire a contractor who said something they found unacceptable?
Good luck with that one.
That’s all the carping about “cancel culture” is. People want the freedom to say whatever they want, but they don’t want to live with the consequences of it. It’s ringing up a lot more on the right. I maintain its because well, they have a lot higher propensity to say things that will get them in hot water as it’s the simplest explanation that makes sense.

I thought we had been over this. Supporting their right to do it is not saying it is the right thing to do. And then we have the unequal application aspect, where obviously many people only support it I f the person who is fired, is if they come from the other political side.
So me an example of the NBA not letting go of a contractor for calling someone on the right a whore?
I’ll be right there with you calling them on their BS

Your narrowing of the circumstances is amusing. Strange position that it’s somehow ok to engage in that behavior if you aren’t a contractor or happened to work for someone else. That’s some real situational ethics magic right there.
Isn’t this what the thread is about? What the NBA did to this guy? Every company is different. For example, Why would I expect Hobby Lobby to have the same employee standards as the NFL?

So in your opinion, it would be ethical and you support calling women whores, if it comes from an employee at Hobby Lobby? I am of the opinion that if it is wrong for an NBA photographer it’s still wrong when you are selling buttons.
I don’t support anyone calling a woman a whore. Whether it is a fireable is up to the company.

So you have no personal opinion on whether he should have been fired? Is that what I will find to be true if I go back through the thread?
I probably would not have fired him for that meme. But since he was a contractor there isn’t any HR mitigation’s that could have been in place prior to canceling his contract. I bet if he was an NBA employee, he would not have been fired.
Yep. I’ve taken issue with things Trump has done.

Do you support the NBA firing him, yes, no, no opinion? If you don’t or have no opinion, you aren’t who I was talking about.
Not at all. When has it happened?
When was happened? When were liberals fired or affected for going too far.
Again the woman with the motorcade was fired. That she is now a politician has nothing to do with it.
