Yeah…caught that too.
People say it in public all the time, today, with the only repercussion being grammy’s and platinum albums.
Where it’s all headed?
What do you fear? A world where employees can’t act a fool while representing their company?
I fear a day I can’t fire this jack wagon
Malware and Nigerian email scams will take care of the olds being able to say much for very long.

If you wish to know my musings on where it’s headed, read the posts I have already written in this thread.
hwyflier:He wasn’t thrown out for his political speech. He was thrown oit for calling women hoes on social media.
Pro tip: don’t do that. Especially when you’re locked in a professional women’s sports bubble.
If it’s about politicians, it’s political speech.
A coalition of Democrat-supporting women’s groups sent out a letter to news bureaus around the US to make it clear that unflattering coverage of the VP pick is not permitted. Violators risk being labeled as racist and/or misogynist. Here is a summary of restricted topics: Reporting on ambitions and relationships in an unfavorable way. Likeability is off-limits. Personal appearance has to be treated the same that of as men. Reporting questions of eligibility and qualifications. Reporting o…
This firing is just another example of the strategy the democrats have chosen.
There will be no criticism of Kamala Harris permitted in this campaign. Or after it. Not by white men anyway.
The Trump campaign needs to take note.
Malware and Nigerian email scams will take care of the olds being able to say much for very long.
And yet, somehow my old mom is still on Facebook plugging away and nobody can fire her for it. Maybe she has a son who is computer literate.
Nba bubble has nba and WNBA in it in Orlando, no?
I have no idea. I do know he was contracted to the Rockets, which is a men’s team.
Basketball died when Larry Bird retired.
Lol that whole union thing really has you shook. Yeah, it’s true, unions do afford it’s members protections for what they say and do on their own free time. The exact opposite of a right to work environment, and a contemporaneous example of a mechanism that WOULD allow Trump Supporters to be as offensive as they want in their own time and not have their jobs risked because of it, assuming they can keep it together at work.
The “narrative” is that libz are getting a lot of Trump supporters fired for the things they say and do on social media. The “narrative “ is that is somehow unfair or un American or a free speech violation.
The reality is, what they say and do is offensive to a lot of people and their employer doesn’t want any MAGA skid marks on their brand so they cut their associations. It’s not that tough.
It keeps happening at a much greater clip to Republicans because they have a greater propensity to say and do offensive things. Most of the time they are TRYING to get a reaction cuz lib tears is the only thing they are after.
Well, they get a reaction all right, and this is hardly a new dynamic. Rush Limbaugh has had a popular radio show for many years, to the point that he’s been given the opportunity to have a TV show and a MNF hosting gig. When a personality like Rush Limbaugh is presented to a general audience, it doesn’t go well.
These “I got fired for what I said on Twitter” stories are just smaller scale examples of that dynamic. What plays in the Republican sand box doesn’t do so well outside of its small market audience, the population at large recoils from what a lot of these folks say and believe.
So, if you’re full of that MAGA you have some choices.
A- Say it loud and say it proud and deal with whatever comes along, which is how the current system operates.
B- Or you can cry about it and pretend some imaginary violation of rights that are not understood.
C- Or they can stop acting like toddlers and self censor like every other grown up.
D- Or better yet, figure out why their beliefs and value system are so corrupted and corrosive that they are rejected by most of society and become better people.
If I were a betting man I would push the whole stack on B and I won’t lose.
Nice analysis.
So now “unfettered political debate” involves calling a candidate a “hoe”.
Unfettered political debate.
Oh the irony.
No one is stopping you from callling all the women here hoes right now, but you aren’t. Why not?
Inciting?
Nah, it’s no big conspiracy. I would think free marketeers would recognize the free market doing its thing.
Guy who isn’t even an employee says offensive things on social media. Contract cancelled.
Behold, the Invisible Hand! Markets self regulating. It’s a beautiful thing, well except for the guy who got punched by that invisible hand.
He can regroup and come back a better person, or hey he can always try his hand at being a hockey photographer.

Pretty sure I already said it’s rude, that he should be fired and that I would have fired any employee of mine for doing it. Don’t confuse my musings on where this is all headed eventually with my stance on this particular instance. Thanks.
I wouldn’t have fired any of mine for doing it the first time.

Depends on exposure and blowback.
Older people, heck, people in general, seem to have a hard time grasping that social media isn’t private, like someone said earlier it’s not materially different then writing an op-Ed or taking out a full page ad in the paper.
I part ways with most of the right on this. We used to call this stuff good manners back in the day. And yes, fire rude people for being rude.
great post

You make a good point in the last sentence. The next jack wagon is where it’s all headed.
You think you could fire a black man for calling a white candidate that on the first go? Be honest.

Hearing any calls for record labels to start dropping rappers who use it?

No, it’s not a conspiracy. It’s a strategy.

How so, sneak?
