I’m not afraid of cops, but you are free to make believe and project to your heart’s desire. There are plenty of examples of individuals acting well within their rights and being injured or killed by cops behaving like an ■■■■■■■■■ as you so eloquently put it. This is not a one sided affair.
“Almost certainly” not being shot by a cop is not good enough, at least for me. It seems that it’s acceptable to some that people will be shot for acting appropriately and obeying commands. They can argue the police will be held accountable, but that doesn’t magically cause the person to be un-shot or brought back from the dead.
If a person has the lawful right to defend and protect themselves, that shouldn’t stop when faced by a “bad” cop. I’m not OK saying people lose basic rights because they’re in the presence of police.
They aren’t villains. You© lump every single person associated with BLM as being part of the rioting and looting. A majority protest in peace.

BLM as a movement has an identity problem. People out here in the country think the group supports rioting and looting. Probably because people who are representing them say they do. “I think they said it’s reparations. They have insurance.”
Heck, she’s doubling down now and saying that calling someone a criminal is racist.
BLM may have started out with good intentions but when you have Their community organizers saying these things, are the hijacking the movement and being denounced?
I agree local leaders making statements like that hurt, not help.
But, overall, BLM has good intentions.
As with a lot of protests, folks with bad intentions get mixed in and cause the problems.
Should be obvious that the media is to blame for that. It’s all about causing conflict. They put the person on who will get them ratings.
But again, they might want to tell most of the people on this message board who have defended the looting and rioting by saying “people are pissed”.

Blaming the violence on “folks with bad intentions” does not let BLM off the hook. Particularly when it is obvious that much of the violence IS being conducted by those who are associated with BLM and their violence is being justified by people who ARE members of BLM. You can hide behind the myth that BLM only has good intentions and acts accordingly, but the world can see that that is not true.

I have NOT been a supporter of BLM since it’s inception and I’ve posted the reasons why here in this forum. Several members here are supporters and I keep pointing out the hypocrisy of BLM. Do they actually care about black lives? Their actions, not their dumb ass manifestos, say NO! Here’s another opinion from a former black police officer. Since he’s black, we all know that makes him qualified to speak on this matter so here he is and what he’s got to say.

They don’t care about the majority of black lives lost, whether to abortion or violence in black majority neighborhoods, because they don’t fit into their narrative of evil always being white & wearing a badge.
