Interesting data on who gets abortions in the US/

it’s the baby that forces the mother to term. not the govt

The fetus can’t force the host to do anything.

Only the government can do that.

she did make a decision about her own body. she chose to grow another human inside of it.

no the growing human forces the mother to give birth

the govt just prevents her from killing the developing human

No it doesn’t. She can terminate the pregnancy. The fetus can not control her. The fetus can not force her to carry to term.

Only the government can control her in that way.

if she rips the baby out of her yes then it can’t force her to give birth.

but if she decides to let the baby continue developing, which is natural. she will have to eventually give birth. this was decision she made

the govt doent make her give birth. no more than they make you keep your child alive and care for your kids. they do prohibit you from killing them though

The fetus has no control over the woman. It can exert no control whats so ever.

The woman if free to act in her own interests.

Unless the government forces her to carry the baby to term.

Paywall. But if the preface in the link is a summation, they’re close. I doubt they’ll ever figure it out, though.

yrs it does. a lot of control. if not killed. but that goes for anything

true for anyone, as long as they arent endangering someone else

the natural end to a healthy pregnancy is carrying to term. the govt is not part of that equation

She was free to act in her own interests before getting pregnant. Now, face the consequences.

Six in 10 women who have abortions are already mothers, and half of them have two or more children, according to 2019 data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “One of the main reasons people report wanting to have an abortion is so they can be a better parent to the kids they already have,” Professor Upadhyay said.

Much of the political debate about abortion in America focuses on abortions performed late in pregnancy, but the overwhelming majority of them occur in the first trimester. Forty-three percent of all abortions occur in the first six weeks of pregnancy, and 92 percent in the first 13 weeks.

In 1973, the Roe decision provided a constitutional right to abortion before fetal viability, around 23 weeks. Without it, at least 22 states are likely to ban abortions altogether, or much earlier in pregnancy.

The Mississippi law before the Supreme Court concerns a ban on abortions after 15 weeks. In the 47 states with available data, about 21,500 women a year, accounting for 4 percent of American abortions, had the procedure after that time. The women who receive later abortions are more likely to be poor or young or to have serious health complications.

there;s more of course.

They could do that by keeping their legs closed. They know how they got the other two, right?

the govt preventing you from doing something is not the same as govt forcing you to do something else

that’s just blame shifting

and a rhetorical trick used by the left

Well, that’s wrong.

How so?

The baby can force the woman to abort or give birth.

An unhealthy fetus could unconsciously force an abortion.

A healthy fetus can not consciously - or unconsciously force a woman to carry it to term.
