If it’s the case that the content doesn’t exist, then the president invented something that doesn’t exist so he could dog whistle the inbred faction of his base.

It exists. It’s a multi-million dollar business, probably multi-billion.
It is to the point where it has become its own justification.

I have zero doubt it does exist. Do you have a NYT sub? Search out the ‘White Fragility is Everywhere’ article.
It is your employers business.
When we interview candidates for positions, we check Facebook and other social media to ensure this candidate isn’t spouting something that would be a detriment to the company.

If you think America is racist…then yes it’s unAmerican.
Do we have racist in our country…you betcha.
But racism exists. What harm is it to hold discussions on racism, sexism, and other unconscious biases? It helps people learn and understand.
It’s absolutely unnecessary in the most diverse country in the entire world and is as Insulting as it gets for all races of American citizens so it’s definitely UN-American.

It looks like making diversity training and categorizing it all as “critical race theory” is the new bugaboo to stir up the base and distract the base from the disparagement of the military and a pandemic death toll closing in on 190,000.
I mean… I guess it will work to distract some.

This is going to be the most important issue for a few days until polls show that it doesn’t really budge numbers at all and then it will go “poof” and be forgotten down the memory hole.

There is an all out twitter blitz going on from the President.
He retweeted this from Carlson
https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1302226767655174144
Carlson’s guest is Chris Rufo who works at the Discovery Institute.
The Discovery Institute is an organization that exists to push their version of religion into politics… mainly getting Creationism into schools but it looks like they are taking on other fronts in the culture war.
So… there is that.

Well, then no need for racial sensitivity training.
I’ve been to one of these. The county every year (this year it’s on line), has an “in service training” event before the start of school. This is the “diversity awareness” section where we as transportation personnel (school bus drivers) are made aware of “needs” of those whose ethnicity, race or religious observance is different than “ours”. Guessing “ours” are “non-minorities”? This includes students, co-workers and supervisors. One of my co-workers a black female remarked “this is bull ■■■■■ why does one group need special privileges because of skin color? These are kids they should all be treated the same”!
In the case of coworkers she said: “So if someone isn’t doing the job they’re paid to do the rest of us are supposed to look the other way because of their skin color”?
She’s a popular gal and a good shot at being the union shop stewart. Getting my vote.

I mean why is the Director of the Office of Management and Budget making proclamations like this?

Seems quite strange.

Can you provide an example of diversity training that isn’t Critical Race Theory?

Nothing wrong with racial sensitivity training. Plenty wrong with forcing people to listen to “get whitey” training.
“The memo says trainings that mention white privilege or asserting that racism is part of the country’s foundation “engender division and resentment” and “undercut” the federal government’s “core values.”
and
“… that any contracts involving instruction on “white privilege” or “critical race theory” be canceled immediately if possible.”
Similar training was done in the 1990s. It was halted, still during Clinton’s term, because it was realized that the result was exactly the opposite of what was hoped for. Somehow, some people don’t like being told that they must step down and be humble because of things that happened hundreds of years ago.

So much for Trump’s “inroads” with black voters.
It ain’t gonna help. I don’t think they were significant anyhow, so it’s kind of a moot point, but he’s going about it all wrong as usual. A better man would make his case and convince people.
