Yes i just thought of that. I stand corrected
Do you think Putin’s got Biden, NATO, and Ukraine right where he wants them?

Since March ‘22, do you think NATO has become weaker, stronger, or remained the same?

There was a mistrust if you call it, I call it caution from the beginning. Before it was drafted “Mr. Republican” Robert Taft opposed NATO on the grounds that it would lead to a war with the Soviet Union. Obama, Trump and Bush Jr have all criticized NATO for not spending enough, or as Obama called them “Free Riders”, This wasn’t news until the Russian-Ukraine war every president has accused NATO of not paying enough while the US shoulders the weight.
It’s to all European countries benefit to join NATO the dime is then on the U.S. taxpayers. I am tired of being their little ■■■■ when the real foe is in China, which France’s president has already said they will not go to war with China over America. Yet like an obedient dog we rush to Europe as soon as the first shot is fired neglecting other atrocities across the globe. Why are they special. Hell Ukraine isn’t even a member of NATO but since they are in Europe we are giving them money we don’t have when people are on the streets and can’t afford basic goods at home.

What are you talking about the whole reason for Natos existence is to be a united bloc against invasion
We just want to live and let live.
Why can’t you understand this when it is/was what the US was all about.

But as you say China is a real threat so why not be united in maintaining our shared values and way of life.
Like i said the US and Europe have the biggest economic trading alliance on the planet and China and Russia are a threat to that.
I am dismayed at the characterisation of Europeans by some Americans, can you even imagine the trauma of 2 World wars, the gas chambers, the trench warfare, the bombing of cities, the rations, the sacrifice the sheer horror of it all, now imagine that in the USA and you may understand why we need to stand against this.

What shared values? What does NATO have to do with China?

You might recall the 2 world wars we endured and yes Europe was under invasion.
The worst atrocities known to all mankind occurred here so yeah what invasion.
Agree or disagree? (Re: Finland and Sweden joining NATO)

Yeah but conan leaving Trump out of the equation robert muller proved Russian meddling in your election even having recordings of them doing so, same in England, ask yourself why would Russia do this if not to destabilise us.
Why would they be doing this at all.
Remember we as a whole severely sanctioned Russia and they are out to get revenge.
So when is Sweden joining?
Finland has long been an ally and participant in NATO military exercises and NATO operations. Putin knows there is nothing essentially different if Finland joins NATO.

Exactly you got it, it didn’t happen to you so it’s ok
But to borrow from a well known US classic, to kill a mockingbird, imagine all that destruction of Ww2 but on US soil, now how do you feel about standing up to dictators.
So Putin has been president for 19 years… with a break in the middle. FDR (Roosevelt) was our president for 11 years. So apparently- using your logic - Roosevelt more than half the dictator that Putin is. We seemed to fare as well as any other country during that time…
FDR’s socialist encroachment notwithstanding.
We have a dictator right now. So maybe you should learn what’s going on here.
And @imel, you should do more research. Turkey’s current president was previously Turkey’s prime minister… which - AT THAT TIME - was the most powerful position in Turkey. In order to be compliant to Turkey’s laws, Erdoğan became president instead of prime minister. But before that happened, his party changed the authorities and responsibilities of the president and prime minister so that Erdoğan maintained the ultimate control. So there we have a long time NATO member who has been in the top leadership position of Turkey for even longer than Putin has.
If years in the top leadership position is the criteria for the label “dictator”, we have had own and NATO currently has one as well.
