not even close to “certainly”, competing interests 1st amendment vs 4th amendment. Courts are generally inclined in such cases to place individual rights over institutional rights. Why? Because an individual can show harm, there is no harm done to the press by not publishing fake news.

The 4th Amendment is not implicated if the Times obtained the tax returns legally.

The 1st Amendment is definitely implicated if the Times is prosecuted for publishing them.

How do you imagine that is possible?

you’ll excuse me if i don’t ascribe to your self serving completely ■■■■■■■■ view.

That the Times obtained the returns legally?

By getting them from Mary Trump, who got them in discovery.

We’ll see.

Trump battling his brother’s children to cheat them out of their inheritance, and winning, might be the Greek tragedy hubris and fatal success that brings his whole clan of grifter despots before the impersonal tribunal of the furies.

There’s no need for you to “ascribe” to my view.

But there’s a decent chance the Court will.

Everybody is talking about tax fraud instead of these damned leaks.

The real story is “Who leaked the Taxes”?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Guccifer 3.0

I think it was Kelly Anne.

They definitely show evidence of being a terrible businessman.

This kind of stuff was settled with the Pentagon Papers.

NYT will not be held liable for publishing information they obtained from sources whether or not the information itself was obtained illegally.

And as has been pointed out there are plenty of sources for this material that would not need to come from the IRS.

But thanks for the typical ploy…info is revealed that shows questionable at best behavior by Trump…defenders immediately complain about how the information was obtained.

Classic defense mechanism.

Personally I remain amazed that Donald Trump, of all people, inspires such loyalty in people.

The real concern isn’t that there is even more evidence that the President is a huge grifter AND that his one perceivable asset that he is some sort of brilliant businessman so that makes his handling of the economy a strength all is vapor BUT who would dare to tell us such things?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

‘Trolling the libz’ appears to be a strategy for self-diminishment.

There are other glyphs in this cipher, and they have harsher, uglier shapes.

But ‘trolling the libz’ does damage enough.

The NYT would have us believe that a person whose taxes have been audited by the IRS for a consecutive 12 years is guilty of tax fraud, but has not been indicted.

You are assuming he is telling the truth about the audits.

He also broke and owes hundreds of millions to someone. So much for that “successful business man” talking point

The President is broke.

He is underwater.

He is not some amazing businessman.

He is a tax cheat.

But Libs are Evuhl so…
