Jan 6th was a little violent, right?
Yes, it was a little. It was disgraceful. I was ashamed for my countrymen. It was a bunch of naïve idiots frustrated and confused. Most of them were just tourists or trespassers. Most did nothing much.
The violent ones deserve jail. I don’t think some of the lengthy sentences was fair. I see them as politically motivated, especially when prosecutors was asking for much less. But, don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.

Now, having said that. The near 700 burn down the town, burn down police stations, cars, and attacking federal buildings and 36 actual killings didn’t get stopped when they should have, and those responsible was not prosecuted nearly as much as they should have. Few of them were.
To me those was much, much worse, with the possible exception of the fact of the J6 thing being the US Capitol. That does make some difference. But, to go after them like they did so rabidly, and to do very little to the rioters/looters/killers in 670 incidents…well, that’s just ridicules. BOTH should be prosecuted enough to deter others. But, no, it was basically encouraged. So it kept going. THAT was evil.
Having said all that, what is going on right now is all a dead end, for ALL of us. Trying to put Trump in jail AND trying to impeach Biden are BOTH dead ends for ALL of us. It’s not just the one thing. PLEASE think! It’s what it will lead to… I really wonder if some WANT to provoke violence. If it ever gets going badly enough. It will be devastating to ALL of US.

Whomever the Republican nominees is, all they need to do to drive home the point that he is not mentally fit to be President is to play clips of Biden’s campaign speeches from 2020 juxtaposed with clips from those he gives now.

Trump is simply way too divisive, childish, zero self-control, and 4 indictments to his name. Regardless of if you think they are valid or political, they are still there. There is no such thing as a “perfect” candidate, everyone has their “favorite” right now, but that is why we have primaries. I will support pretty much any Republican candidate EXCEPT Trump if they get nominated. I think the majority of voting Republicans feel the same way.
Thats just my thoughts on the issue, hell I may be wrong, wouldn’t be the first time and won’t be the last. I just know if we have a Biden/Trump rematch, neither gets my vote.
