He could never win as a democrat.
Who got punked by a NYC bully. No thanks.
He could have against the Republican candidates in 2016.
Of course he could have and easily so. He has no core values or principles so he would have simply played the same role with a different platform.
Are you a member of that community?
The country got punked. Cruz ran a pretty decent campaign but Trump gave them the National Enquirer/Jerry Springer show rolled into one.
Who exactly is supporting it?
Not with his platform…
From above
Yep I agree with you. I responded to post before seeing your comment WR!
GOP primary voters (later 63 million Americans) ate it up like cheese fries.
They punked the country. Donald’s just reaping the rewards.
Deplorable people dun care.
They got suckered by a class A huckster and bully due mostly to the early open primaries. By the time the serious republicans and conservatives had a say in the outcome it was already decided.
They sure as hell weren’t going to vote for Hillary over Trump once he had the nomination.
I’m pretty sure you were one of the present-day trump-haters that I found posts enjoying his primary successes.
There were so many of you it’s hard to keep track, but I stand by it. Pretty damn sure.
How? He wasn’t terribly subtle or sophisticated.
Playing on their emotions rather than intellect. The entire country has devolved into an emotionally driven product of Jerry Springer and “Realty TV” and thrives on constant emotional stimulation.
This is interesting, seriously. What was it, do you think, that drove the entire country into a state of Reality TV irrationality?
It’s a product of the lowering moral standards through the 70-90’s era, the internet and social media along with a lot of the modern games that addict people to constant emotional stimulation and affirmation.
No matter how sick or warped you are today there is an online community that will welcome you, make you feel “normal” or even “exceptional”.
In a sense we’re just about all becoming self absorbed hyper emotional adrenaline junkies in a world with no real consequences for the vast majority of anti social or even psychotic behavior.
So did Trump voters see themselves in Donald, or does Donald represent what they’d like to become themselves?
I don’t disagree that Donald appealed to a superficiality/shallowness in people, but I’d argue he also represented a justification for feeling certain things.
Ya I wish we could go back to the moral standards of the 50s and 60s where whites treated blacks a sub human. MAGA
