Now that Feinstein has passed, other than the loss to the immediate family, what difference will it make?
Will she continue voting in the Senate, as she did yesterday, until a replacement has been named?
She hasn’t been truly functional for some time and there have been a number of California politicians jockeying to take her place. Best guess on which sewer sludge will the governor appoint to fill the slot?
Newsome has previously committed to a black female, but now that he actually has to act he may change his mind.
Anyone worried about her vote, she will be replaced by Gov Newsome in like 24 hours or less. Count on it.
May she rest in peace. 
Giving Newsome the opportunity to appoint someone to the vacant US Senatorial seat is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenagers.

Um…I know I’m being indelicate…but death has the same functional impact as resigning.
Ok…but that isn’t going to happen unless Pelosi gets Newsom to agree.
And his would be the case even if she had resigned before.
Again, RIP Diane and sorry to be indelicate…but death and resignation have the same functional impact…a vacancy that Newsom gets to fill.
I am no fan of Newsome, but I will go with him on this one. Shift doesn’t belong anywhere near the Senate.
