President Trump confirmed Thursday that the Department of Justice and the FBI will formally review the Jussie Smollett case in Chicago; calling recent developments surrounding the charges an “embarrassment to our nation.”

Chicago officials stunned the nation this week when they abruptly dropped 16 felony charges against the ‘Empire’ actor weeks after arresting Smollett for allegedly staging a hate crime and filing false police reports.
