The Department of Defense is currently reviewing options for border wall construction along the US-Mexico border; preparing a potential game-plan should President Trump declare a “national emergency” for the region.

“The Pentagon is preparing options to build barriers on the southern border in the event that President Donald Trump declares a national emergency there, the latest indication such a move is gaining traction within the administration,” writes USA Today.

“The Department of Defense is reviewing available authorities and funding mechanisms to identify options to enable border barrier construction,” said Navy Capt. Bill Speaks, a Pentagon spokesman. “As there has not been such a declaration made, it would be inappropriate to comment further on those efforts.”

President Trump landed in Texas Thursday to meet with local officials and federal agents with first-hand knowledge of the escalating crisis along the US-Mexico border.

Since Chuck and Nancy already passed a bill in the House and Senate, I would
think that President Trump has every legal right to call a State of Emergency
whenever he would want.
