A New York City judge ruled Friday that former Congressman and failed Mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner must register as “Level One sex offender” as his 21-month sentence rapidly comes to an end.

“Weiner must register for a minimum of 20 years. He’s required to verify his address every year and visit a police station every three years to have a new picture taken,” reports Fox News. “Weiner didn’t attend Friday’s court hearing. He’s in a halfway house after serving most of his sentence at a prison in Massachusetts.”

Weiner’s release date is set for May 14.

The disgraced Congressman stunned the public in 2011 when he resigned from office after exchanging illicit text messages with multiple women on social media.

He was sentenced to 21 months in prison in for communicating similar messages with a 15-year-old teenager.
