He is amending a current law.
So you are against a law that wants all viewpoints told and is asking for a survey of everyone on campus to see if they believe that is what is happening?
Because that’s what the amendments to the law are about.

Define what “all viewpoints” means? How do you measure that?
If you are going to school for engineering… what an alternate viewpoint to calculus?
What’s the alternative viewpoint to pan African studies? Communications?

It sounds like a really bad idea, made even worse by the fact the government is The Decider.
So you are for the government not just wanting, but ensuring, that “all viewpoints” are “told” to students? Does that include critical race theory? Fascism? Marxism? Creationism?
Who decides what viewpoints need to be told to students? The conservative’s answer is never “the government,” or at least never used to be.

Those are very legitimate questions that you dodge because there are no good answers.

You could always read the bill if you really wanted to know what it covers.

Not really.
This is not a new law. He just made some amendments. Y’all weren’t bent out of joint before about it.
With specific citations from current statutes that already exist with the additions he is asking for. Some of this stuff is not new.
Yeah, that’s how laws work. All laws fit into the law as a whole.
It wasn’t the law before, and now it is.
Hence, a new law.

If I’m going to lambast progressives for pushing “thought crime” and “microagressions” these days, it’s intellectually dishonest for me to support DeSantis for proposing the same. We need less of this in society, not more of it.

Yes I know. Seems to me libs don’t understand what it mean by keep it private. Do you need to but your name to questioner?
How about like a ballot? You answer that questions, put it in unmarked envelope and you put that into your return envelope?
Not hard…oh wait.

You might want to see what the law actually says. No where do students have to claim their political affiliation.

“DeSantis said that schools found to be “indoctrinating” students aren’t “worth tax dollars” …”
Maybe the real issue here is why so much government money goes to colleges in the first place.
But at some level, DeSantis is right. A whole lot of crap is getting propagated through our college/university system. Not sure he’s approaching it a good way though.

I am personally against requiring this sort of thing. Surely those who value diversity and that the schools should fairly represent all groups proportionally would favor this to create a campus that looks like America?
PS- Pretty clear these are just voluntary fact finding surveys. Really not a big deal.
