Did you not see the parameters of what is not allowed? What type of person in education would have something like that in a classroom anyway?

Then why do you need to threaten them with prison if you already trust they would not present such material?

Yup. Magazines not meant for young eyes to see. Why would that be okay in a classroom?

I’m not. Do you have evidence that every teacher in that county has inappropriate books?

Because I don’t trust that there are some who won’t present such material. Clearly, if this has had to become a law then there were issues creating the need for one.

Umm, the news. Already linked one story. Here is another with several examples

What a silly question. Is it your presumption that if one has it all then must have it?

if the old laws haven’t prevented every book from being appropriate, what makes you think the new one will?

ITT small government conservatives cheering duplicitous laws…

it now has teeth.

Are teachers really free if they can’t give books depicting ten year olds having oral sex to elementary school children?

No, it your presumption that is one might have all do.

Which is why you support the potential felony charges. All teachers are covering their library. Even if none of them have inappropriate books.

Actually, it is your presumption.

How many teachers are going to be charged with a felony for having books that don’t contain inappropriate material as defined by the Statute?

Who break the law.

Crawfish Switch.

How many teachers are in jail?

For having Green Eggs and Ham on their desk? None.

For being predators?

We should totally have more laws and more threats of imprisonment for citizens!

There 3.1 million teachers in the US.

So, let’s see if I can remember Mr. McQuade’s math lessons…349 divided by 3,100,000 times 100 = 0.01125%

I’ll also point out, there obviously already are laws on the books about inapproporate behavior, which lead to the arrest of these 0.01125% of the teaching population.

Why do we need more?

Why does FL need new bureaucratic positions? A department full of Professor Umbrage’s…

Why?

For citizens who give children sexually explicit material, sure.

Incomplete, you need to factor in how many don’t get caught based on that number =and then compare the result to the general population. Personally, I would expect to find more pedophiles in any profession that bring adults into contact with children on a regular basis.
