If that’s an actual tweet from Elon, it’s more of a statement that managers don’t know what their direct reports are doing.

I would never as for a specific number of bullets… I just want to have updates on progress towards okrs that’s all. It’s the outcome that matters… how you get there is their choice.

But in answer to your questions, I haven’t the foggiest idea. It’s really not up to me to know.
When I was working for the DoD in the 90s I was asked a couple of times to fill out a form to say whether the work I was doing was necessary. I said that it was.
It certainly was to me, anyway.

Typically, they bring it on themselves. They lost trust.
How will what work? Sending everyone an email? Tracking who responded (or not)?
And who checks the actual verbiage in the response? who is verifying the information sent? What if someone is on PTO for the next few days?
I get these types of announcements play well into the Trump base and give the illusion of doing something proactive but thats all it is.
When we are doing a reduction in force (and we have done a crap ton in last few years) it takes time to ensure the correct positions eliminated. There are time when entire teams are eliminated due to automation and AI and they are the exception as their work has already been assessed and the new processes and systems are in place to kick in once the team is eliminated.
Again for the thousandth time eliminating waste and those individuals who are the lowest performers (compared against their peers) is not a bad thing and I am all for it, but so far DOGE has gone about this in a way that aimed at giving the MAGA base bread and circuses rather than being effective.
But YMMV and i am sure it will.
