Because they do not have Hope

might as well give up on America and move to some Island.

well we have gotten to the root of the issue, people are scared Hispanic are going to destroy American culture some how.

Border control not fear mongering. It’s the number one job of the fed govt. It protects workers wages.

Fear mongering is suggest your going to revoke the 14th admanemnt by EO because of scary Hispanics.

The government can protect the border without engaging in hyperbole like using terms like invasion.

There were several threads started by Trump supporters in praise of a Brazilian dictator wannabe…shown by his OWN WORDS…just because he was a conservative-leaning leader.

Trump discusses changing the 14th Amendment by executive order…a violation of our constitutional process…and he receives cheers and elaborate rationalizations as to why it’s really not a violation of the 14th Amendment.

What else are we to make of that?

What are we to make of people who claim they are freedom-loving patriots but espouse authoritarian tactics as long as it supports what they want to have accomplished?

Its non sense, complete and utter non sense.

Obviously not.

The whole invasion thing is to rally up the base to vote Republican down the ticket, these people are months away from the border.

The left, the masters of the agile application of the euphemism. Behold “The Caravan”. A traveling group of travelers taking in the sites, living in the moment. It’s not about the destination but the journey. So romantic and adventurous. A “caravan” of migrants, dreamers, dreaming in movement, assembled together in safety. No illegals, only undocumented globetrotters, adventurers, tourists and explorers.

Let’s be clear: fear-mongering works GREAT on many people on BOTH sides. Repubs fear gov’t control, erosion of rights, inadequate nat’l security, tax-and-spend pols; Dems fear erosion of rights, environmental catastrophe, further economic class stratification, tax-and-spend-on-different-stuff pols. There are reasons for all those concerns, but unless they’re backed up with historical, statistic-based evidence of risk, it’s just fear-mongering.

Does the economy consistently do better with one party in control? Do “liberal” Supreme Courts consistently conflict with the Constitution more than “conservative” ones? Which party has passed more effective environmental-protection legislation? I see very little evidence-based support or refutation of a position on this forum, in the short time I’ve been here. It’s mostly “Libs gonna lib”, “Cons gonna con”, “derp, derp”.

Your political philosophy isn’t right, and doesn’t work, because you say so. It’s right, and you can convince me it’s right, if you can apply critical thinking to provable evidence that it has worked in the past, and currrent conditions will allow it to work in the present. Otherwise, you’re just the blowhard at the end of the bar.

They are Hondurans. There is no war there. They can vote in thier democracy. They are not oppressed by govt. And there’s tons of resources there and yet they won’t make Honduras great.

There is no difference in wanting to keep our demographics the same and purposely wanting to change them…

how many Hispanics and African people is to much? 35%?

That’s a fair point.

I think “libs” would argue, not without merit, that the primary goal of keeping them the same would be to maintain the status quo i.e. old white men in power. And “cons” would argue, not without merit, that the primary goal of changing them would be to increase the ability of “libs” to gain that power for themselves.

As is so often said, follow the money.

I don’t fear changing demographics.

Why do you?

Can you talk about what’s the best interest of our nation without using hyperbole of white nationalism?

Or is that not fear mongering?

Yes we can but when you start talking about how Hispanics are going to destroy American culture I will bring up the White Nationalist term.

What makes me sad Cratic is how many incredibly stupid morons we have in this country that no matter how many times you tell them these “caravans” have been coming for 15 years, they still keep acting like this is new and we are in danger of setting a dangerous precedent if we just let this one come up like all the others before it.

You know anyone like that man? They are really driving me nuts.
