Glenn Greenwald has an interesting commentary on how many Democrats are fawning over George Bush’s speech on Saturday, and how that alliance has implications for the future of the US as a Constitutional democracy. Bush drew parallels between 9-11 and 1-6.
Here is an outline of Greenwald’s commentary:
2:00 Excerpt of Bush equating 9-11 terrorists with 1-6 protestors.
3:00 Summary of liberal attacks against George Bush. Bush was viewed as war criminal; his family supported fascists in Germany.
4:40 Claims that Bush stole the 2000 and 2004 elections
6:00 Claims that Bush was responsible for 9-11 by either actually planning it or deliberately ignoring warnings of the attack.
6:30 Book on how Bush stole Ohio in 2004
9:00 Summary of praise from Democrats now
14:00 Democrats claimed Russia hacked the 2016 election.
16:30 Description of war on domestic terrorism law.
19:30 New bill to make all the powers in the first war on terrorism apply domestically.
21:30 Bogus security bulletins repeatedly claim terrorist threats from “White Supremacists” and “right-wing extremists” that never happen
26:00 More spying; CIA violating its charter with domestic spying
27:30 Democrats demanding that anyone connected to January 6 should be on no-fly list
30:00 Summary of the assault on civil liberties
My observation is that the gushing praise of George Bush from his former bitter enemies makes sense if the surveillance state has been controlling most of the government. Until President Trump, leadership of Democratic and Republican Party were pre-approved by the CIA/FBI, so the details of who was in power was not particularly important.
Now the CIA/FBI view the Democratic Party as their allies. Trump supporters and anyone who opposes dictatorial actions of the government are viewed as existential threats to the surveillance state; opposition must be crushed by all means necessary.
The Biden regime appears to be looking for any pretext to launch a new War on Terror against domestic political opponents. The first war on terror included drone attacks on civilians, FBI entrapping Muslims in bogus terrorism plots, extensive no-fly lists, and people held without trial for decades in Guantanamo.
Democrats have frequently claimed that anyone who opposes them are “White Supremacist”. If you doubt that generalization, realize they are now labeling Larry Elder as a “White Supremacist”.
While Greenwald did not mention it, there are also clear threats from many on the left against anyone who chooses not to get the COVID vaccination. I expect that “anti-vax bioterrorists” will become the next target. Here is an extreme example:
Is the alliance between Bush and Democrats part of a bigger effort to use pretexts of terrorism to end civil liberties in the US?
