How long have you had your paychecks garnished with SS and Medicare? I’m 68 and started seeing witholdings from my first payroll check at age 15. Now retired I still work about 30 hrs a week because I can and still contributing to the Federal, State and local coffers. Sorry, I don’t consider my benefits “entitlements”.
I thought Obamacare was supposed to help people afford healthcare? Why the need to expand Medicare, what went wrong?

The major problem democrats have is they think they can beat twump with a twump like candidate like bloomberg. They also like to bring calculators, compromises, and stupid failson pundits that created the festering ■■■■■■■■ that is America today in just because they dont like twump’s tweets when they are in a gunfight to the death. Theres even candidates on the stage right now that naively believed that mitch ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■ gives a flying ■■■■ about anything other than trying to be a petty tyrant in the senate. They still think they can negotiate with republicans and play the same 90s era politics after all the things they did for 8 years under obama! They cheer about reopening the government after giving twump his ridiculous space force. This particular debate was a sham though.

So the 4% income-based premium. I’m on the cusp of the top 10% of household incomes and I’d take that in an instant. Just compared to the average family’s premium, this is a no-brainer for working and middle class families. Four percent of $50,000 is a lot better than ~$5,400 (average family premium [1]).

In a twisted protracted way, if you say so. But considering millions of working people including my self have contributed thousands of dollars each to SS and Medicare during our working careers, I still maintain these are retirement benefits.
The liberal-socialists use the word “entitlement” as a lure to gain popularity among the takers and those who would try to enter this country illegally to get all the free stuff.

I was being catty when I used the word entitlement; generally because, these are great programs that for some reason people believe shouldn’t be extended to others, because they aren’t entitled to them (unlike themselves). The fact someone paid into a program for a long time is no reason to deny coverage to everyone else.

In regard to the other issue: I’m never going to be swindled into not supporting something that will benefit millions of Americans because “illegals!”. Not after living in absolute agony for weeks waiting on my punk ass insurance company to finally approve (after several denials) my root canals.

And you think government insurance would be better? Psst, medicare issues more denial of coverage than private insurers, on average, by quite a margin.
