The article is mostly about House Democrats. They are not relevant anyway, since they are in the minority.
If Senate Democrats want to put on a show for their constituents, let them have it. Aren’t Republicans for reducing federal government anyway? If they decide to close the government till they get their way, Republicans should seriously consider what the majority of Democrats wanted to do four years ago…end the filibuster.

You did have a couple of republicans vote against the spending budget bill because it didn’t cut enough in the committee I think, now they’ll be asked to vote for something that doesn’t cut anything with promises they’ll get cuts in fall. Maybe they’ll vote yes and Dems will be spared the decision.

What’s ironic is that with their threat to shut down the government, DEMs might actually be playing right into Trump’s hands.
DOGE is all about demonstrating how much of government can be eliminated with no impact. So what are DEMs looking to do? They are looking to take DOGE one step further by shutting non-essential services down altogether.
With a shut down, American’s will be able to see for themselves how little impact there would be without all of that government.
I normally am against government shutdowns, but this time I might actually be on board.
