So no military, hospitalized, invalid, or shut-in votes, and no vote if you’re on vacation or otherwise unable to get to the polls on election day? Got it.
I wish my county was like that, since my polling place is a community center literally a couple hundred yards behind my house, but that’s not where I was needed.
My community is the population center of a large, mostly very rural county. Plenty of elderly folks here happy to work our two polling places, not so much out in the more rural areas. C’est la vie.
Odd. By requiring their poll workers to be from the precinct they are working you avoid the issues you are speaking of. I can’t imagine why it’s not like that everywhere.
If you want to talk rural, the polling place for the precinct my inlaws are in was their actual house until a few years ago. You cast your vote in their living room. lol
Even when I was working the polls in our previous state, they strongly encouraged us to vote early because we might not have time/opportunity to vote ourselves on election day.
