Former Secretary of State John Kerry unloaded on President Trump Wednesday; blasting the Commander-in-Chief’s “disgraceful” call for NATO members to pay their fair share when it comes to defense spending.
The senior Obama official called Trump’s rhetoric “destructive” despite the NATO Secretary General praising the President’s “leadership” and pledging to pay more towards the mutual defense budget.
“It was disgraceful, destructive, and flies in the face of the actual interests of the United States of America,” Kerry said in a statement, claiming Trump “set America back this morning.”
Trump met with European leaders in Brussels this week to strengthen the alliance’s commitment towards fighting terrorism, advancing Democracy, and defending member nations from the threat of Russian interference.
