DEA surveilling protestors

Are these surveillances overseen by a court?

If so, then I agree.

If not, they aren’t the same at all.

Yeah…it’s so much better when it’s done secretly and you don’t have the stress of knowing about it…amirite?

It’s being done secretly. You can’t surveil someone effectively openly.

This also seems to be being done without court oversight.

We don’t know anything about who they are surveilling.

Where’s Edward Snowden?

This goes back to what they mean by surveillance. Follow them around while in public and see what they’re up to or dig through personal details, search their home, etc. . . Since there is no expectation of privacy in public, I see no reason why we can’t follow people in public during protests to see what you can learn.
