They don’t grow up in upper crust neighborhoods in Toronto

They don’t have two parents with PHD’s who teach at major universities

The struggle is real, and something Kamala knows nothing about. She is nothing like them, she shares no experiences with them, she would probably cross the street like any other Karen if two or more were walking her way on the sidewalk.

Her family moved around the US for her first 12 years, going from university to university. There is zero elitism in that. No tenure and basic pay. Getting a PhD is hardscrabble unless you come from a wealthy Manhattan family. Her mother coming from India definitely did not have that.

Parents divorced at 7 and father barely present after that. Single mother. Her mother getting a PhD in biology and doing cancer research, if you know anything about academia, there is no $$$$$ involved there. C’mon man.

She grew up a person of color and she went to a historically black college. He isn’t saying her life is exactly like there’s, but that she can relate to their lives better than Trump.

She didn’t move to Canada until she was 12. Her mom was a single parent who had been divorced for 5 years. They moved there because her mom accepted a “research and teaching” position which is far from an academic elite position lol. It’s basic pay and long hours teaching and in the labs.

I’m not sure if her mom ever made it into any kind of academic “elite class”. Few do. It’s mostly just hard work for little pay but you’re living your dream, I guess.
