I went to an ice cream shop in a small town today. I decided to enjoy it there.
Gave me a chance to talk to the proprietor and observe.
It was family run. Husband, wife and a daughter behind the counter. Grandmother and either daughter or granddaughter sitting in one of the booths making ads for specials together.
They are Latinos.
Everywhere I looked, there were signs of Texas. Flags, statues, posters.
It is a beautiful family, all working together to life.
My guess is abuelita crossed, father and wife were born on the other side. Daughters born on this side.
Good people, all of them.
