yes it is, but do we know what nature might do with a virus that was engineered to begin with? no we don’t. there are gene sequences here that nature would never produce, whats nature gonna do with those?

Evolution is stochastic…even with sophisticated modeling it would be difficult to predict.

BTW several scientists have pushed back on the idea the CGG-CGG sequence had to be “unnatural”. They’ve also done modeling studies to show the cleavage site that this codes for is actually not a very good one upon which furin can act.
