Did I say anything about voting? I asked how much help this will provide for the unemployed people that have been furloughed? Will it make up a fair amount of their lost wages? Will this give those people devastated by Trump’s absolute and complete failure in handling this pandemic some solid economic relief? If so, how much? How does this government assistance help the people who’ve been put out of work by said government?

Break the inertia Mr. President! Make them stop you. Sit down this weekend and start signing. Stay on message. Short and to the point.

From @Apocalypto 's post.
-Defer payroll tax until to the end of year and be retroactive to July 1
-Enhance unemployment benefits until end of 2020
-Defer student loans and forgive interest until further notice
-Extend eviction moratoriums
Just right. Use the $600 number

And there it is - years of mismanaged cities. And you always get sued.
He needs to be specific about the demands.
I noticed that explaining the truth of the situation was completely ignored. Weird.

Only Congress has the power of the purse.

A few thousand ATCs is no where near the same as millions out of work and struggling. ATCs made the choice. Those out of work did not.
There is. I resent nothing. As an employer I have helped people struggling to recover from the Covid and can’t go back to work until the virus clears. Wouldn’t you say she deserves that help, since she’s still trying to recover?
I will agree…we learned already that Government bail outs are bad for the country. Take care of the people. Let government go and try to win the lottery or something. No corporate bail outs either.

Nope. Supposedly Republicans wanted money for an FBI building. I suggested they drop that and that Dems should drop anything they want that is not COVID-19 related.
As far as the dollar amounts…If Republicans want a $1 trillion dollar bill, Democrats want a $3 trillion dollar bill…then logically they both agree on the $1 trillion dollars they both want. Pass that and then discuss the $2 trillion they don’t agree upon. Is it a good look for Dems to refuse any relief because they don’t get the amount that they don’t both agree to?

From an article that clearly favors the more liberal spending package for cities:
According to NPR, one of the main disagreements between Republicans and Democrats is how much aid should go to local governments and whether this money should be limited to helping only in pandemic-related costs, like the CARES Act, or could be used for filling the budgetary gaps that cities have experienced since the economic downturn. Texas mayors said that although they know they can use the funding from the CARES Act in areas directly related to the health crisis, they do not have clarity on whether they can use it on other areas that are financially strained.
“We’ve had conflicting directions,” Austin Mayor Steve Adler said. "If you look at the words themselves [in the CARES act], it suggests that you can’t use this money for things that were already in your budget, but then the Treasury suggested in the guidance that you can. The flexibility we are seeking is to use funding to fill budgetary shortfalls that cities are experiencing because of the virus.”
Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price explained that flexibility could help her city promote employment, which she can’t directly do under the current CARES Act regulations.
“What we want is the ability to use it in infrastructure projects to create jobs,” Price said. “Cities need to be able to apply that money in the best way they see to provide help to their communities.”
Ok, lets quit calling this bill “COVID Relief”. If it is used to promote general employment and to cover past budget shortfalls, then it is a general stimulus bill. Separate that part of it out from the COVID relief and propose a general stimulus package.
If people don’t have money, they don’t spend money. Spending is what drives the economy. How hard is that to comprehend?

The same can be said of employed people.

I’m not quite following. What is similar to the ATC situation? As far as I remember they weren’t allowed to strike, similar to some professions. With jobs like that, and if you can’t come to an agreement, you go to an independent arbiter. They chose to strike. Are the Democrats now doing something illegal?
