And Western Australia is more than three times the size of Texas.
And you would be factually wrong
Highest mountain in Texas is Guadeloupe peak (elevation 8751)

What is the population of WA?
What is the population of Texas?
When did the virus first hit Texas? During the peak of our annual respiratory virus season.
When did it hit WA? When it was least likely to spread.

What would a pig be if it ate a turkey?

If Texas had a similar per capita death rate as Western Australia their total would be around 105 to 110.

That so-called mountain is a bump on the high country. Elevation does not make the mountain, its the height from the base to the summit. Mt. Kosciuszko summit is a mere 800 meters or so (2625 ft) above the base of the hill.
