Japan, Korea, Norway, Taiwan.

No, No, No

We have the top universities… Silicon Valley… darpa, nasa… etc.

Yes, Yes, Yes.

how did SK do it?

How did Taiwan do it?

Share with the class please. Then compare there government/constituiton/regulations to ours and see if what they did would work here.

Trump touted his ability to remove regulations. So why is that not an impediment?

Who has more resources, US or Taiwan?

Death with Freeberty is better…:sunglasses:

Currently, the USA has had 93,416 COVID-19 deaths compared to Australia’s 100 deaths as per the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 dashboard. Why is there such a discrepancy in the per capita death rates between the two countries?

He did wave a lot of regulations. And resources don’t matter if you have regulations/laws/protocol to follow.

Example. If a person tests posative, can you put their name, phone number, credit card into a data base and know every place that person has been in the week, and know every other person who was in those locations as well?

The government has that capability today. They just didn’t want the citizens to know they do.

You can already use publicly available gps data to track where people are.

And if they did use it as SK does, it would be shutdown by the courts in a heartbeat. If it is available and being used right now in the USA – those responsible should be charged, tried and spend the rest of their lives behind bars.

Some people yes. But a lot of it is NOT publicly available. It might be on some apps, but for those companies to release the information SHOULD take a court order in this country.

Because we were slow and unfocused to respond, and we continue to be only half committed and are even more unfocused than we were in March.

And? You think that proves something?

La is a state, not a country, they couldn’t shut down their own borders in January and ban all travel from the US and Abroad, nor did they have the testing capacity of S.Korea much less the ability to order mandatory testing of the population.

Gee, no kidding? 25m/330m 13.6:1 population difference and CCPV hit you in the summer, not in the midst of the fall/winter cold/flu/respiratory virus season.

If SK is your ideal feel free to move there.

Southern Australia is almost 2/3 through our autumn. Since my original post the USA has recorded 1,456 COVID-19 deaths; Australia has recorded 0 deaths.

You have a better than 98% chance of not death.

Korea was 3 weeks late. We were about 6. The botched CDC test hurt.

I see the blaming game has started, can I play?

So what?

It hit you in mid summer, not during the cold and flu season.

It’s least likely to be transmitted during warm weather because people naturally practice social distancing during the warmer months.

You also had five months lead time to prepare.
