Countries who want to control speech are afraid of free speech platforms

This is where tyranny begins.

No one is stopping X operating. It was a 2 year investigation and found paid blue checkmarks did not have rigorous checks so scammers could get them.

In addition, there was lack of transparency of adverts and finally data access blocks.

Fixing these enhances the users experience, there is no impact to free speech.

There were concerns about foreign influence over the operations of TikTok so the Chinese ownership force to sell and was replaced by pro-Israel ownership.

Foreign influence is dead. Long live foreign influence.

The EU and in particular the UK do not believe in free speech.

No way would i live over there.

Total bull ■■■■■ They had no interest in Twitter when Dorsey was in charge. And by every measure they are more transparent now then than they have ever been. They are lying and you are believing. Because you want to. Then there’s this:

There you go.

Irrefutable evidence.

The English food is awful too.

Elon should not pay a penny of this extortion money. Force the E.U to block Twitter and make them lie to the people about why they did.

And their women are ugly.

What has that to do with X been fined? That is the topic I was discussing

Just another example of the war on free speech. I may list a few more example that you don’t want to see.. Did you notice that they were pretty vague about the reason X has been fined? I may have missed it, but I didn’t see any examples. But I read it pretty fast.

1984 was not intended to be an instruction manual.

The Soviet Union and East Germany are long gone, but London and Brussels are working to bring back similarly oppressive systems.

Why anyone cares about Europe is beyond me. If you frequent any or their forums all they do is talk â– â– â– â–  about America. To them we need to provide complete protection for continental Europe so they can spend their money on lavish social programs.

They want us to put boots on the ground in Ukraine, that’s what defensive guarantees mean. I personally would like to see more of those programs like they have spent on our citizens rather than the money go to companies like Raytheon.

Are we back to pretending that twitter and Elon are bastion of free speech absolutism?

No they were not vague. It was none compliance with advertising standadds and the blue check mark. That case resulted in X making an an individuals location known to increase transparency.

I am sure a lot of governments would like to go back to pre internet days but social media is here to stay.

No they talk â– â– â– â–  about Trump and Maga.

And the Brits, Belgium, Portuguese, Romanian, irish, …among other depending on who’s doing the talking ;p

It’s a harbinger of what can happen here if we’re not careful. Biden worked with social media to restrict censor and ideas that were not government approved.

No. Are we back to pretending that X needs to be controlled by government?
