And?? What would have been the story?

Coming from a Trump supporter thats rich…lol

i did, there are no small nuke reactors as it calls for. you can’t replace what is with wishes

Coming from a valued and loyal TDS content supplier I thank you for that retort.

:ballot_box_with_check:

It’s not an “advance”

They’re under development. His plan is to transition by 2050 to “clean energy”… not as soon as he gets in office.

Then you should know they will start coming online in less than ten years.

The only two realistic options which science now offers to “transition away from fossil fuels” and preserve our existing standard of living are hydrogen and nuclear power. And the “clean energy” nitwits do not embrace nuclear power. As a matter of fact, most see nuclear power as a bigger threat to the environment than natural gas. Only nitwits and scientific illiterates believe such a transition can be made with wind, solar and hydropower.

Aside from that, a number of our oil and gas companies are involved in some promising research [maybe 20-30 years down the road] to begin a noticeable transition away from fossil fuels using hydrogen and nuclear power. But the path which Biden and his lunatic crowd preaches is less than wishful thinking.

It’s a sad shame that the discussion to transition away from fossil fuels has been politicized, and done so to garner the votes of useful idiots who probable could be conned into an alchemy scheme, and changing lead into gold, or in the case of “clean energy”, a rope-a-dope scheme to supply the world’s energy needs with wind, geothermal, solar and hydro-power.

Our communist/socialist domestic revolutionaries, which now control the Democrat Party Leadership, are known for accusing others of what they themselves are guilty of.

Which is a freaken pipe dream, or more to the point, a rope-a-dope promise to useful idiots to get their votes.

I don’t think that hydrogen will be happening any time soon.

There is a storage problem that hasn’t been solved yet.

I lost a good chunk of money investing in Hydrogen in the 90’s because I willfully ignored that hurdle.

How do you know?

Blue Ammonia: Another Major Breakthrough For Hydrogen Power

From all that I have read, this could reach the market in about 20-30 years, and maybe less!

I hope it works

But I will believe it when I see it.

A lot of people got burned by this in the 90’s.

Well, it appears to already be working for Microsoft, although in a limited way…

Microsoft makes hydrogen fuel cell breakthrough in quest …

July 27, 2020

For the first time, Microsoft has successfully powered a row of data center servers using hydrogen fuel cells for 48 hours, a milestone the company is marking because of its potential to reduce reliance on fossil-fuel consuming generators.

The fuel cells combine hydrogen and oxygen in a process that creates water vapor and electricity. Microsoft conducted the proof-of-concept at a data center near Salt Lake City, Utah.

Microsoft is investing in hydrogen energy technology as part of its effort to become carbon negative and eliminate its dependence on diesel fuel by 2030.

Our free market, free enterprise system works!

As I said. I hope it works.

It is technology that seems to be perpetually five years away.

Fusion has been poised to become commercially viable in 20 years … for the last 50 years.

Yeah … and there was a breakthrough for cold fusion in 1989. We should be seeing the benefits soon.

We are talking about proven technology here, unlike fusion.

IF it is ten years down the road, it has yet to be proven. Yes, they know that small nuke plants work, but there is far more to it than that.

The first two commercial plants should be online in seven years. There has already been decades of work and molten salt reactors were first built in the sixties and ran through the seventies.
