Sen. Cory Booker doubled-down on his outlandish hoax during Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing Thursday; repeatedly claiming he was “breaking the rules” by releasing confidential emails despite the documents being cleared for publication well in advance.
Booker was speaking with CNN’s Anderson Cooper when he was pressed on whether he was really “violating” Senate procedure by publicly disclosing the documents.
“Was it really a violation?” asked Cooper. “At this point President Bush’s representative says he cleared the documents before 4am per your staff’s request and that they had told you they could be used publicly. Grassley’s office also confirmed you were told the restrictions had been waived. How do you square that with what you said?”
“I square that very easily. Last night I broke the rules… I continue to release the documents. I’m breaking the rules. I’m breaking the sham rules,” said Booker.
