Incoming Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez weighed-in on the current state of the US healthcare system over the weekend; saying the country “lags behind the modern world” and a ‘Medicare for All’ program would ultimately save over $5 trillion.
“Reminder to my fellow millennials to get your act together & buy insurance before tonight’s deadline. Is open enrollment a pain? Yes. Is it expensive? Yes. But it’s WAY better than being uninsured (been there) & reason enough to fight for #MedicareForAll,” she tweeted.
“It’s important to be honest about the fact that US healthcare is terrible and lags far behind the modern world. The good news: #MedicareForAll can save the US $5.1 trillion over a decade while drastically cutting working-class Americans’ health spending,” she added.

Cortez found herself in hot-water from major media publications just days ago, when she claimed Pentagon spending-errors could largely pay for her universal healthcare proposals.
Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez is crazy! Doesn’t she know that President Donald Trump already solved the American healthcare for us all, on day one, when he gave us all better and cheaper health care than Obamacare.
That woman needs to read some real news once in a while, like Fox Nation, or Breitbart.
Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez is, or soon will be, a sitting member of our United States Congress; duly and fairly elected by her constituents.
They, a majority of them at least, 57.13%, obviously did not care that she is a socialist when they voted for her over a 10 term incumbent.
She is only a "pariah" to folks that are afraid of new ideas, afraid of new ways of thinking. A “pariah” to those who want to live in the past, like much of the MAGA demographic set. A “pariah” to those who seemingly want America to return to an ‘imagined’ white privilege utopian era; before the Civil Rights movement, and or before brown skinned minorities were, OMG, projected to become the new American majority.
Yeah, remember the good old days, when women and people of color knew their place, amongst us real Americans?
