At the end of February Trump was still saying it was a media hoax and cases would be down from 15 to 0 very soon. Under total control.

China spent Nov/Dec covering this up, arresting reporters.
by January every single health expert in the world knew what was happening and started warning people this was going to become a global health crisis.

The U.S government spent January and February acting like they were wrong and nothing would happen. There are hours upon hours of News interviews of them doing this, it was contained only 15 cases from a cruise ship.
