On Thursday, Azar clarified some aspects of those figures. Speaking in Washington, he said that by the end of this week the CDC will have shipped enough tests to public health labs for 75,000 people to be tested. The manufacturer that works with CDC on testing, Integrated DNA Technologies, Inc., believes it will have sent out enough test kits for a million specimens by the end of this week, Azar said, which will be sufficient to test 400,000 people.
This led me to the following from 3 days agoā¦
āThere may be traditional IVD manufacturers who would also like to get a EUA authorized kit through any of the manufacturers who have an EUA authorization, such as IDT has under the CDC [EUA] ā we understand that having such a kit may be helpful in your test development process, and I donāt want to exclude those entities from being able to purchase the kits,ā Stenzel said.
Finally, the CDC and the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority are working with āmultiple IVD manufacturers and laboratories to enable additional EUA authorizations as soon as possible,ā Stenzel said.

So what, should we test the entire population? How long is that going to take?
If you have better guidelines for who should be tested and when than the CDC, NIH, and HHS you should definitely inform them immediately.

The lack of precautions was jarring considering where Iād just been. When I landed at Milanās Malpensa Airport two days earlier, Italian officials took the temperature of every person on my flight. And when I left Italy, all passengers on my flight had to fill out a sheet of paper detailing where they had been in the last two weeks, their contact information, and where they would be staying in New York. And I think I underwent a thermal scan, though I canāt say for sure.
The region I returned from, Lombardy, should have raised a red flag. According to the Italian government, of the 4,636 people in the country whoāve contracted the virus, around half got it in Lombardy. And Italy as a whole is currently the epicenter of the European outbreak.
Despite Italyās status as a Warning Level 3 country ā and my deliberate route through some of the most-affected areas on a trip to report on the outbreak ā no one in the U.S. airport even asked where Iād been, let alone reminded me to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Preventionās recommendation for a 14-day self-quarantine, as Iām now doing.
And this is an article from Forbes

Who appointed the guy who is failing at the CDC?
Who appointed all of the people in the response team that is failing?
Who I ask?

Thatās great Conan, how do they use those funds with a 16 month hiring freeze?
Is brilliant moves like that which HE is accountable for.
Iād leave it up to the SG, DrNIH, and DrCDC but it might even be time to start considering quarantining entire states if it proves to be that serious.
It could actually be done if need be.
And if the Secret Service let him walk into an environment with a known or suspected carrier they would all be derelict in their duties.

Yep, it was a situation like this that was always the concern. Get him the hell out of there, quick.
Tell you what we had this same crap being repeated after 911. Blame blame blame. Hate hate hate.
Unlike many I am not in a panic and pointing fingers. I think that everyone from Trump to the CDC and any other government agency or workers are doing their level best to help.
I did not get in a panic over 911 or ebola.
Just partisan party before country people who see this or any other event like this as a political opportunity are beating the end of life as we know it blame the other side drums.
And this is what will cause more deaths than anything.
There is no way that this was going to be stopped. From what I have been reading this has been here since January. Since no one knew about it all was well and live was good. Now all of a sudden we know itās here and the finger pointing starts and every Tom Dick and Harry believe every crack pot on the internet with a dire story to tell.
If Trump would have shut down our borders completely no one in no one out we still could not have stopped the virus.
The CDC messed up test kits. More finger pointing and the fingers are not even being pointed at the ones who caused the problem. The CDC.
Everyone over looks all that should have been happening on the state level to prepare for this. Why because the fed have conditioned everyone to believe they are the only one who can save you. What a crock.
Your own state is your first and best line of defense. They are the ones you should be contacting and finding out what their plans are.
I know my state is prepared. I know they have their ducks in a row. In the past month they have even had mock drills on building and staffing portable ICUs.
I have daughters that work in the medical fields. And in the past month they have had changes in how they handle flu patients and have had mock drills on what to do if a corona virus patient shows up at their ER.
So no I have faith that this administration just like any other administration in handling this outbreak. And I am glad that they are also staying on top of ways to keep this from effecting the economy. Because we need to protect the citizens on all fronts.
You want public safety turn your eyes from DC and turn them towards who should be your first line of defense. Your own state government and find out what they are doing to protect you.
