No country any where as large and diverse was able to scale up a response as fast as we have

That is of course you want to include China but I don’t think even you are desperate enough to defend their response or suggest the same quarantine methods such as shooting people in the streets and forciblky shivi ng people into apartments and welding the doors shut.

That would be my guess as well?

Next time you might want to read what I wrote, instead of what you believed I wrote.

I said “herd immunity”.

Two ways to achieve it.

At least a 60% infection rate of the population in which you wish to have herd immunity.
Vaccine

One is safe. The other…not so much

What you are talking about is a convalescent treatment that was used for great effect in SARS and is being used now.

One important note…it’s used on people who GOT SICK.

It’s not a way to confer broad-based immunity.

Maybe you’d like to quit while you’re behind?

Or will you come at me yet again?

I have three words to describe Trump’s performance on Fox News today: pathetic, puerile and petulant.

I really look forward to what testing and data will tell us in 6 months.

:chart_with_downwards_trend:

That’s because there hasn’t been time for CEC spin.

By the way, I nailed it on the button as to why Trump chose Easter.

Fox already used “Resurrection” in recapping the town hall.

That spin writes itself.

Trump probably wins all the way around.

He can’t really order any area to unlock…that’s up to governors and local officials.

If they agree and nothing happens, he’s hailed as a hero for saving the economy.
If they agree and cases spike…well how come they sucked at putting proper controls in place?
If they disagree he can yell at them for wanting a Depression (save for a Florida, the governors of all the hot spots are Dems).

Win all around.

What a crock k. You completely dismissed Ebola ast a threat to the US inany way.

The only outbreak rememotely during his tenure was h1n1 and we already had no than 10,000 dead fromit before he tookcany serious action at all

As for your testing claim it’s another reapted outright fabrication.

The impediment from the start was the regulatory state itself that prevented state and private labs from either developing their own tests or processing CDC Tests.

Imagine had Trump not kicked the pandemic guy off the NSC, and he had heard the intelligence Trump heard that China was covering up how serious the outbreak was? Think he might have said ■■■■■■ that mean they’re going to hit here. Let’s get ramped up and ready!”

This too is of course pure BS. The directors have direct access to the POTUS as does their boss.

One major re time, CDC started working on their test In December and rolled it out within 48hrs of the WHO doing the same.

USMCA let’s start there.

That is exactly what needs to be done. That activity should get some press. It’s positive news about preparing for a coming need…not what MSNBC types are looking for. :elephant::us:

Thanks JimmyC for bringing this up. The raw data shows in round #'s that 500 million contracted Spanish Flu. The world population in 1918 was about 1.8 billion. That’s 27%. However, no where close to the 148 countries with coronavirus today had widespread cases reported back then.

Curious that China in 1918-1919 did not report a high # of deaths from this former H1N1 virus. In fact, there are some experts who believed China was also the origin of patient zero in 1918.
That theory is further supported as a possibility since Chinese soldiers coming to Europe during WWI might of been less affected built up a strong immunity against the infectious disease previously residing near the source.

Fact checkers will most certainly verify the POTUS claim here. Doing a back-of-the-envelope calculation: if you exclude China plus other countries around the world left unscathed in a major way, that would leave about 1 Billion of people infected. Might very well be 500 million cases of a 1 billion pool being the logic of what President Trump was referencing today.

What you actually wrote before moving to the herd immunity Mr Self professed insider with secret knowledge and expertise.

Hate to keep busting your bubble but we don’t know yet whether immunity is being built.

Also if you’re thinking herd immunity?

You can build that in a population one of two ways.

So much for that supposed self professed insider knowledge and experience

What the directors DO NOT HAVE is access to the same intelligence at the same time.

And again, the red tape seemed to evaporate as soon as the President paid attention enough. Imagine has he paid attention enough in early Feb because he had a comprehensive attack plan in place along with the full of holes closing of travel from China?

You can’t laud President Trump for smashing through the red tape in March and then blame the red tape for existing in February and at the ame time claim Trump was on top of everything earlier than anyone else.

Well you can but it would be logically incoherent.

Ebola wasn’t a big deal…because Obama was handling it correctly despite the idiotic caterwauling of folks on the right…and Donald Trump.

You are all over the map, man.

Anything to try and pretend you’re not horribly horribly wrong, I suppose.

Wise woman. I heard not long ago, “If you live too long, you’ll bury everybody you ever loved.”

 it’s the next major chronological milestone.

That’s not how intel works.

We’ve talked about this. Fauci says he wouldn’t call it a mistake.

There is still no reason to have 100 CDC people in the NSC.

Now if you want to talk about restructuring the CDC to have a crisi… they already do.

Plus there’s no guarantee Trump would have listened to them any way.

This too is of course it’s just another complete fabrication on your part. Npbody in it in any position of authority has said that that change change their access to intelligence none of the directors and certainly not the secretary.

You claimed Ebola was never a big deal from the start because of how it spreads, you said because how it spreads it could never become an epidemic in the United States period.

Quit making things up.

You of course continue fabricating. First layers of bureaucracy removed with the initial emergency declaration which of course she put out before the experts were urging him to.

He Then followed every recommendation coming from the quote quote experts. He then before even being suggested by the quote quote experts declared a National Emergency removing the other layers of bureaucracy to expedite getting the private sector involved this then allowed FDA and CDC to get millions upon Millions upon millions of test kits manufactured quickly and the FDA was then able to give emergency certification to the state and hospital and University labs to process them.

Of course you the now self-professed expert were not calling for the president to take any of those Majors before they were taken. All you’ve done from the start is criticized and complain you have yet to offer an actual idea of your own that would have helped anything.

Obviously Trump closed travel from China under recommendation from experts, he didn’t just dream it up himself. You think they recommended that and didn’t know it was serious?
And the WHO was on the ground over there. If any group should have had more information it was them. They didn’t even see it as a world health emergency till the end of January. Where is your criticism of them? They are the ones who didnt believe in travel bans, remember?
Fine…blame the experts for not coming up with sufficient test sets fast. That will help. Its like yelling at the plumber for not working harder and better.

We could open up immigration… there are bound to be many factory workers from Bangladesh, Mexico and Vietnam who would be delighted to work for US wages.

Nah, I guess not…

Need, mostly yes. Want? No.

Why were there millions of jobs? Yes, it’s going to cost more. How much is this going to cost us? You ok with sweatshops as long as they’re “over there”?
