UK is essentially piloting this for you, we shall see how it ends up.

Yes.

…

Gov Cuomo saying they expect 40-60% of New Yorkers to get the virus. With a 10% hospitalization rate, that would be over 1 million people needing hospitalization.

There are only 50,000 hospital beds

Do you not understand how large the population above 50 is and how engeained their lives are in society? What, we are going to segregate the entire population above 60?

And you are saying closing non essential commerce is drastic??

There is a flip side to the non essential commerce being drastic. I am assuming a fairly significant proportion of these people have to pay mortgages, bills, etc… If we start seeing foreclosures going up again and there is another housing bubble burst which has been up for a long time it could have horrendous consequences. People have to eat they need a roof over their heads. If everything is shutting down what follows and is happening is lay offs, and worse since everyone is behaving like the we are in the Walking dead hiring is freezing. This could get way worse and way past politics. What does the Fed have left to stop and outright panic other than papering money adding trillions to the debt, but at a time when people can’t leave the house and everything is shut down.

Last week there was two people I said I know personally who are in the red in their small businesses they will have to shut down a few more weeks of this and one of them employs 20 people.

They haven’t confirmed yet whether they’ve actually gotten it a second time or whether it remains dormant and then you have another bout.

The latter would be consistent with the findings some people have a significant viral load up to 37 days after they were first infected.

Wow northeast putting clamps on

Take care of yourself! I hope it passes soon, and that your fiance doesn’t get it.

The ear thermometers though…we have a forehead/ear scanner that I used this morning, as I’m coughing, etc (don’t think it’s corona though). Across my forehead, it read 97.8, which is my normal, give or take a decimal point or two. But in my ear, it read 99.4. I have no idea which is right, but I think it’s the forehead scan. Might have to go back to an old oral thermometer!

I have a fever and headache since I woke up. It hasn’t got above 101.7. I keep taking my temperature every 5 minutes  Love this thermometer a good purchase. Not going to take any fever reducers let the fever do it’s work as long as it stays below 103. I still have the itch in the back of my throat I guess it’s a little sore it is red but not horrible. Still no cough. It feels like any regular seasonal virus as of now except one difference I have this compression feeling in my chest.

Waiting for my fiance to get tested, she is taking it much worse than me. Yes work from home if you can I am full time work from home but I was wanting to leave this area for awhile until it passed over at the time I had to put in two days a week at the office then three days remote since then I got the stupid virus.

Neighbors are in the same age category as me, 34-40 both of them are experiencing about the same conditions but the husband is coughing, I don’t have that yet. Unless this thing kicks into turbo gear I am feeling pretty lucky if this is as bad as it gets.

Sorry man. Get better quickly.

I have been personally concerned for some time that I have it as well. I’ve had a cough for a while…but have chalked that up to early onset allergies.

However today I felt a little light headed and SLIGHTLY flushed. But when I take my temperature I don’t have a fever.

Occasionally I feel like someone is sitting on my chest but it goes away.

No sore throat either.

Hate that it could be a million things and I don’t know which.

Did yours start out so intermittent/hard to gauge that way, if I may ask?

I see you got new badge…I hope you’re the only one receives it.
Stay safe man. It’s little freaky out here in our area.

Keep us informed of symptoms.

Fever and headache are symptoms. How do your lungs feel?

It is not slowing down.

They just went on total lockdown a week or so ago.

Based on China’s experience, it will take a few weeks to slow down.

Also, what we are seeing is partly an artifact that the number of officially reported cases is always much lower than the number of real cases…many people have this and don’t report it, and we can’t officially know someone has it until they get sick enough to require a doctor’s visit and tests.

Here’s a good article explaining this, and also explaining what we may need to do the next few weeks.

Right, there is a latency which has to play itself post lockdown.

Do Justified next. My wife and I loved it.
